After sending the man off, she, who was experiencing an internal conflict over her slip of the tongue earlier, finally heaved a sigh of relief.
His gentle announcement of his return at night was, thus, ignored by her.

Slamming the door shut, her blank face broke into a wide smile.
"Ha ha ha!"
She laughed aloud.
The cat in her embrace was startled by her outburst and its sea blue eyes stared at her innocently.
"Meow!"
"Pudding, I'm the only one in the house now!" She lowered her head and kissed the top of its furry head.
Ha ha! I'm the only one at home now!
She was excited at the thought.
Placing the cat on the floor, she began to explore the house.
She could not explore it this morning as the man was still around. With the man gone and her being alone, she was, of course, happy that she could explore the house all she wanted.
