Iris tightened her arm around his waist while focusing all of her attention on observing Wei Lan's reaction.
Wei Lan blanked out for a few moments, as she stared at Jin Liwei and Iris together. Her brain couldn't seem to immediately process the idea that her daughter was engaged to the most powerful man in the country's business world of his generation. Although younger, Jin Liwei was certainly wealthier, more powerful and influential than her ex-husband, Long Tengfei.
But this was Wei Lan. Her opportunistic nature allowed her to recover her senses fairly quickly. After the initial shock and disbelief, pride and elation immediately filled her.
