Chereads / Coming For The Lost Fourteenth / Chapter 22 - That Physique

Chapter 22 - That Physique

The whole class turned silent upon hearing her declaration. Even the teacher turned agape by this, she didn't expect for this person to be so stubborn.

And she can see that it was not a threat but simply her own will. As if entering this academy was just part of her own whim.

Even Kaito and the others couldn't believe their ears when she said all these things.

Kaito soon realized what was going on, the strength she had shown him was obviously not of a number four nor a number six. It was far stronger.

He had no idea why she wanted to hide it but if she project her cards then everyone would soon realize that she was not just of a simple one.

The teacher seeing that she was serious by what she said could only massage her temple, 'If I could then I would love to see her being expelled.'

Her a number four who was only a bit special was in the top class of Gem Academy, the most prestigious academy of Diamond City. That on itself was already embarassing enough to their academy.

But the principal himself allowed her to be there, as if a teacher like her could do anything about that.

She could only grit her teeth and move forward with her topic.

"Since you are that stubborn then I will take you up to your offer. I won't be lenient no matter what you say after this."

"Thank you ma'am," Astra even smiled at her before sitting down.

She was actually relieved on the inside, though she came in strong of them expelling her, she actually didn't want to disappoint these four who pulled her in here.

The teacher then started telling them about the practice they would have starting tomorrow.

"Seeing as most of you have half way through to the next level, I will make you do some physical exercises first. It is just right to strengthen your bodies first before we strengthen your abilities."

"In this way, even if you have raised your numbers, your bodies would be able to keep up with it. No special treatments, all of you shall do it the same way."

As she said this, her eyes went to Astra who was once again propping her head with her hand looking bored.

'That little, let's see how far you can go tomorrow with this attitude of yours,' was her thought before leaving the room.

Since it was just the first day of class, after introduction and few instructions, nothing else could be done.

The moment she stepped out, Astra felt different gazes from everyone. Some with hostility because of her attitude, some with wonder while most were with envy for she was a number four yet she was in this class.

She shrugegd it off before leaning on her table, intending to sleep until their next class.

The other four who wanted to speak with her noticed that she really was not affected by the events of a while ago, could only sigh in relief as they looked at each other.

Another thirty minutes before the next teacher came in, Astra who was in deep slumber abruptly woke up upon feeling the person that came in.

Kaito who was about to wake her up was even shock that she suddenly sat straight, he looked at her to the side wondering why she looked so shock.

"Do you know him?" he couldn't help but ask.

'Could this person be the one she was searching for?' was his thoughts.

Astra slowly shok her head, "No."

Seeing as she really didn't know he just shrugged and looked at the teacher.

He then remembered who this person is.

Daiki, a past player.

He was famous in the academy because of the fact that his physical strength was top notch.

He was once a gifted player, reaching Jack at the age of fifteen and reaching three aces at the age of twenty.

But he was also one of those who tried to reach the fourth number, ending with him becoming a non player.

He is currently at his early thirties, he became a non player at the age of thirty.

Daiki sighed, "I've seen your faces now and since it is the first day, I will not task you anything. That's all good day."

Most of the class were dumbfounded by this as he step out of the room.

He was their history teacher, he was both physically strong and knowledgeable. But at the same time he was also a negligent teacher.

"Why must he be our teacher?" one complain after another then came out.

They heard of him as someone who makes his students read and then that's it. He rarely speak up and do his lecture, most of the time, leaving it to the books.

Others wanted him gone from the academy but the principal allowed him to stay.

'That physique,' Astra frowned upon feeling his physique.

If only she can use her ability as a superior she would know instantly just what it is, the difference she felt towards him.

"You seem to be in deep thought," Kaname who looked back at her asked upon seeing her serious look.

"Who was that teacher?" Astra asked.

"Well..."

Kaname told her the story about Daiki and her story made Astra realize, just what is it that makes him someone different.

'The neglected number, the number two that appears and disappears every time someone tries to cultivate four numbers,' she nodded towards Kaname and started thinking deeply.

'I never read of this in books, it was always just mentioned that once one were to cultivate the fourth number, they would end up becoming a non player.'

'This is the first time I met one with such circumstances. I guess I'll have to speak with the others about this. This is something we actually didn't know about.'

As a superior watching over the land for thousands of years, they were unaware of some things, this discovery is something worth writing down in the history they are making.

Superiors aren't only to watch over but to also write down the history of the people of the land.
