The ride to the police station was silent as Wu SuYi was obliged to ride the same car as Han XiGuang. Mei LiLi who later learned of the situation also came with her. Despite that, Wu SuYi still couldn't feel calm and the reason was whenever she looked forward, her eyes were met with the darker gaze of the man who sat next to her.
Wu SuYi quickly threw her gaze away. Why is he looking at her?!
Those eyes! Wu SuYi swore if she was a criminal she would have poke his eyes for staring her more than necessary. Since she was young, being stared in both disgust and admiration was not rare, but Han XiGuang's gaze was far different. It was not only filled with tension but also pressure. It was a gaze of a predator that unsettled her.
When they got down from the car, she couldn't express how relieved she was. Mei LiLi didn't notice her senior's sour expression and happily hopped down from the car followed by Wu SuYi.
As she got down, she hurried to stand beside Mei LiLi, not wanting to talk much with Han XiGuang. Many girls would have taken the opportunity to know such a handsome man, but Wu SuYi decided at spot to stay away from him once she heard his background.
"I have been wondering," Han XiGuang's voice were raised gently at the same time too chilling to be gentle. Wu SuYi flinched. She looked across her shoulder only to find him.
But she had thought she managed to discard him earlier!
Her eyes were apprehensive, "Wondering of what?"
"I feel that you are scared," Han XiGuang's pointed out. He watched how Wu SuYi's glittering eyes quickly narrowed down. She reminded him of a hamster who had just seen a threat around her. "Of me? But I am sure I haven't done anything to yet."
Yet? Wu SuYi gulped down her nervousness. It would only raise his suspicions if she acted in anyway out of place to his eyes. "Earlier, the incident still scared me."
"Scared you?" Han XiGuang chuckled in disbelief. He had seen by his own eyes her triumphant smile as she took down the kidnapper. It was far from the word scared.
Wu SuYi looked at him and gritted her teeth. She had to leave him before anything… before he realized who she was. She doubted everyone in Eustodia know her, but with him being the director of the bodyguard company, he must know a little about her. Although now, he appeared to be oblivious to her identity.
"I don't want to be rude, but I will. I am someone who utters if I feel uncomfortable out loud. All I see is a man being too close to my comfort. I hope you can fix that," Wu SuYi said what she needed to say before getting inside the police station. It should make her feel safe after saying those words that would cooled off Han XiGuang's attention to her, but she wasn't sure what mistake she had done as instead, Han XiGuang's gaze on her settled for longer than before.
Wu SuYi had written off the statement paper she needed to fill while holding Rui on her hands. Although she felt bad for the little boy, she was worried of her safety. In the name of the freedom she had to acquire with her blood, she didn't want it to all be taken away from her.
"That is all for me," Wu SuYi stood from the chair. She looked at the boy. Her heart felt it was squeezed when she thought she had to leave him. But she was left without a choice.
Han XiGuang who had been watching her smirked seeing how quick Wu SuYi and her feet was. "You don't have to be in a hurry," Han XiGuang stood up from the chair, standing straight, causing her neck to crane to meet his eyes. She only noticed now how tall he was.
Wu SuYi wondered what he was about to say only to hear something unexpected from his lips. "I'm sorry if I was too close for your comfort and I won't force you on anything. All I wish is to thank you for taking care and protecting my Son. He is," Han XiGuang smiled. He raised his hand, placing it on Rui who was still on her arm. The smile was free from any cunningness, instead it looked warm in contrast to his face. "The only light to my life. If you don't mind, could we have a dinner together? As a token of appreciation."
Wu SuYi felt slapped by her own assumption. When she knew Han XiGuang was the director of Eustodia company, she had quickly filled her head with terrible thoughts when she knew Han XiGuang hadn't pose a threat to her. Instead, she had been the one to judge him from his cover when he had been polite to her.
After reflecting on herself, she felt a sudden pang of guilt hitting her.
"Thank you," while she learned that Han XiGuang wasn't dangerous to her, she still couldn't be in comfort knowing how he worked in the company that was related to her past. "But I would be alright. Saving him was an act that I wanted to do by my own will."
Wu SuYi lightly patted Rui who slowly released his hand from her neck. Her smile bloomed. It was hard to part with such an adorable child but she had to. After giving the boy back to his father, she then walked aside, leaving Han XiGuang to stare at her.
Mei LiLi was confused at what happened, looking back and forward as she could tell there was more they wanted to talk about. In the end, she followed Wu SuYi from behind, questioning in detail of what occurred in curiously.
Han XiGuang hummed seeing Wu SuYi left. Even though she claimed she wasn't scared of him, he could feel the fear radiating from her. Or perhaps it wasn't to him…
Wu SuYi had carved a deep impression in him that he couldn't forget. The small hands of the little creature on his arm slowly crawled to his shoulder. Han XiGuang looked down to see his son's eyes opening. As soon as he woke up, Rui looked left and right, as if to search for something only to find nothing.
"What's wrong?" Han XiGuang asked, wondering what had got his son worked up all of a sudden when ;arge water droplets fell from Rui's eyes, surprising him.
While he was confused, Han XiGuang's hand went to rub Rui's back and coax him gently. "Shh," Han XiGuang pulled Rui to see his eyes, "Are you searching for that lady earlier?"
Rui nodded vigorously, "Daddy will search for her?" He small adorable voice asked, requesting at the same time with his large eyes.
Han XiGuang grinned. "If my son ask with such a pleading face, of course I will. But to make this happen, will you work with daddy?"
Rui blinked thrice before nodding his head.
"Good," Han XiGuang praised, smiling in the thought that he would meet Wu SuYi again, the woman who had stolen his attention.
