He knew that he was incredibly handsome. At least that was what every other person told him, as well as what he always saw in the mirror. Not to mention how rich he was.
Which man, in the whole of Imperium City, could compare to him? In fact, in the whole of the Republic of Olphire[1] and Europe in general, the only people who were almost as rich as him were not as handsome. He could have a harem if he wanted to. How dare an ugly little thing reject him?
As a man who had always only had to look at a woman once for her to throw herself at him, Cedric's pride was badly wounded. He glared in Purple's direction and sneered. It was her loss after all.
Purple spent the following one hour sitting on pins and needles. Cedric had not sought her again. Had her mission failed? Did she let Shera down? How could she be so useless? By the time Vivette sent a waitress to tell her that she could leave, she was deflated.
By the time she arrived at the Mansion of Black, she was almost on the verge of tears. She hurriedly went on her knees as soon as she entered Shera's study.
Shera was shocked by the sudden action. "What are you doing? Stand up!"
Purple hesitantly stood but did not dare to look up. "Master, I have been useless. I did not attract Cedric's attention well enough. I have let you down, master. I deserve to be punished."
Shera was uncomfortable for some reason. Her brows knitted into a frown. She just couldn't get Purple's train of thought. She had only appeared in a man's line of sight once and she expected him to be all over her? That was not how such men's minds worked!
"His pride has just been wounded. Relax. I'll tell you what to do."
"Yes Master." Purple was relieved that she hadn't let Shera down. Once she was allowed to go back to her room, she almost burst into tears of joy...
Which made Shera want to ask, why did Purple seem to be so scared of her?

On Wednesday, Shera held a meeting. She had two purposes for calling for a meeting on such short notice. The first one was to speak to her employees...
She scanned the managers in the conference room for a moment. Just as their backsides grew tense from wondering what was going on in her brain, she spoke up. "For the last quarter, you have done well."
Eh?
Everyone's eyes bulged.
Did the president just compliment them?
It was not that Shera had never complimented her subordinates for working hard, but her compliments always came in form of bonuses and increase in employee benefits. This was the first time they had heard the words leave her mouth.
"All of you will recieve a bonus alongside this month's salary. The most outstanding employees will recieve salary increment too."

They exchanged looks. Was this really their president? Had someone kidnapped their President and impersonated her?
Even though they were shocked, they were too scared to ask a thing.
"Thank you, President." One of the managers said with a restrained smile, making the others also snap out of their shock and thank her profusely.

Shera frowned slightly. The little thing was appearing without notice again, and after so many days. She shrugged. She was used to it.
She brought her concentration back to her employees. "Moving on, let's talk about our next goal." Shera paused and glanced at them before dropping the bomb. "Let's all work harder in this period. The goal is for CT Corporation to be pronounced the top business conglomerate in January."
"..."
"..."
"..!!"
What?!
Did the president just say what they thought they had heard?
She wanted CT Corporation to be the top company in January? That was only six months away!
Being the top company was one thing. But wouldn't that also mean defeating The Qin Empire at the same time? Er… was their President daydreaming?
