Chapter 4 - He Doesn’t Like Crowd

The middle-aged woman turns silent when the old lady asks her back. She looks displeased but she still lowered her head and not saying anything after that.

"Don't make a fuss. Your son is sick and you ignore it. What kind of parent you are?" She continues to nag both of them and later, the woman named Barbara pout a bit. She nudges on her husband arm.

"Mother, please. Lower your voice." The husband said. Trying to save some dignity among his other family member. Lucky it just the family and closed friend today. An accident like this wouldn't affect him much.

"Lower my voice? How about you, James? You scold a waitress just because she is at the scene when your son throws a tantrum and put the blame on her." the old lady still doesn't want to back out.

Scoffing, he glances over at the girl who is hiding behind his mother. Knowing there is no use to say anything else, he turns his body around and gestures the maid to clean up the place before he and his wife return to the living room followed by other family members and friend.

That leaves Luna to sigh in relief. At last, there's someone who saves her day. She doesn't have to go to jail or facing death today, right? However, she felt in debt with the old lady.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry for causing trouble for you. I'm truly sorry," she said earnestly. Reflecting on her action today which is so careless.

"It's not your fault. Ray has some condition that other people- " She stopped in the middle before she continues again. "Especially his parent, not want to understand him at all. That is why he acts like that. He doesn't like crowd or party at all." the old lady said with a bit of lonely hint in her voice.

Luna doesn't want to dwell more on their family matter. She did not say anything back and just let the old lady talk.

"I'm sorry. Today must be a pretty shock for you, right, dear?" She brushes off the sadness that starts to creeping out from her heart and return to reality with a smile on her face.

She like this girl in front of her. She is truly beautiful and has an aura just like her when she was young. The girl also seems polite to the elderly. If only she can bring her into this family, at least she would have a chat friend. But it's not easy as she thought. This family is not harmony as they put on the show at the public.

"It is. However, thanks to you, ma'am, I am saved tonight. I don't know how to repay your kindness ma'am." She said politely.

"When the times comes, maybe I was the one who will ask for your help. Ah~ I'm so tired for today. Goodnight, Ms. Luna." She smiles and leaves the girl in the kitchen. She wants to return to her bedroom and rest for today.

..

"Luna..um.." Carla fidgeting while walking back home together after a tiring night.

"What is it, Carla?" She glances at her best friend who seems like she wants to ask her about something, but at the same times, she was afraid. Afraid that it might against the rules they signed before.

"Ah.. um...I heard the commotion.." She secretly peeks at her.

"Oh..hmm, I really..don't wanna talk about that. Sorry, Carla." She looks guilty, but she can't just run her mouth to tell her about what happens too.

It may be a secret, that they hide it from the public. If not, why the father and the mother of that guy look at her like they gonna kill her? She still loves her life and she doesn't want to interfere with them at all. Let just forget what happened tonight and treat it as a dream.

"Well, that's okay. At least we got out from that mansion alive, eh?" Carla giggles a bit.

"Yeah. That's true."

They stop at the junction before they both part their ways. Luna crosses the road and walks to her house which is the third from the corner-lot house.

"I'm home." She said once she closes the door.

"Oh! Welcome back!" Her family greets her from the living room. They still watching movies at this late hour. It is some kind of a tradition, every Saturday's night that they will watch a movie together.

"What movie is this?" She squeezes herself in between her mother and father on the couch.

"Ah, it's a titanic." Her mother reply.

"Wha…urgh..boring." She gave a boring look to which her mother's giggling after that.

"What? No, babe. It's romantic in many ways. I always love this movie, like how can a person love someone until she dies? It's lovely."

"Urgh.." Luna rolled her eyes. Well, that probably because she doesn't have any boyfriend yet, so she doesn't know how to love someone.

"Honey, our daughter doesn't even have a boyfriend. So she doesn't understand how to be in love. Can't blame her either. Her beauty scared most of the guys in this neighborhood to come close to her." her father said in a nonchalant voice.

"Thank you so much, dad. You just hurt my feelings." She smiles a bit.

"Aww, babe..don't worry. The right man will always take a step first. The guys in this town don't know how to woo a beautiful lady like you."

"Erm..mom..you only rub my wound with salt. Thank you." She took a bowl of popcorn from her mother and grab the popcorn before she stuffs it into her mouth.

"I say something true, right, dear?"

"Oh yeah. Except, I'm not sure which guy would take the first step first if our daughter had no eyes to a man."

"Dad!! I'm not a les-"

"I just state it dear. No worries. We accept whoever you want to be with." He hugs her daughter's shoulder while kissing her head.

"Yeah. We don't mind dear. Don't feel shy to tell us if you.."

"Oh my god!" She gives back the bowl to her mother.

"I know I'm in your way. Go ahead. Flirt all the way you want. I wanna go upstairs and sleep. Goodnight my dear parent.:" she stands up and kisses both of her parents.

"Goodnight babe," they reply when she already climbs the stairs.

"Now, we have our romantic-"

"I heard you."

"Oh! We're sorry dear.."
