Chapter 4 - The Weak Pulse Is No More A Pulse

The weather was gloomy.

There was no moon late night, the sky was filled with the clouds.

Air was scars and almost stifling normal breath.

The city was as usual alive in the night but the far corner of the city was completely in the dark, it was property of the research center founded by some researcher and businessman.

One part of the research center was reserved for the lab purposes.

The building was built on a vast area and divided in many portions for different researches.

The businessman was running this lab even before his business expanded.

Now, he was considered one of the most renowned celebrities of this city and among rich people of the country.

He received the news that his running experiment in the lab 23 failed.

He only nodded his head and then forgot about it.

It was one from many incidents so not a bigger one for him to itch.

On the other part of the city, the girl was not ready to accept that her death was inevitable.

She was fighting with her circumstances in the empty room.

The room was full of life supporting machines and surgical apparatus.

Her neutral pulse was enough to claim that she died during the last experiment.

But it was not complete truth.

Only her neutral pulse was truth.

The current ran in her body, the wire that was a source of this current was still around her arm.

She fell from her bed and her brain got a severe shock and woke up.

The current that ran through her body pushed the special structure of her blood into thick liquid that no more carry the red color.

Few memories that she forcefully saved in her brain flashed in her head.

Her home, her father, the man who tried to save her and the people whom she wanted to kill, though these were her saved memories but there was no more emotions attached to it.

Her heart was artificial, her most of organs were replace and one tried to check her pulse, one could only confirm that she was dead because her pulse went neutral and never became normal as the doctors expected.

Their theories and selfish motifs took a living life and replaced it with emotionless, blank human and according to the medical terms, she cannot be claimed as human anymore, if worst, she could become killing monster but not that previous lean, fragile sixteen years girl with lots of ambitions in her life.

Bounded with many wires, she opened her eyes.

The pulse was replaced with impulse.

A force and whim that was needed to meet these four memories.

She must have died.

She indeed was ready to die and she cannot control it, just her brain refused to die, she looked at her surroundings.

Her body shook with the running impulse in the veins.

It was middle of the night.

There was no one in the whole lab only few guards were smoking and ready to shift the dead body of the girl.

She blankly walked out of the lab, it feels that this teen girl was in a daze.

Her recovered her surgery stiches at remarkable fast pace.

Nobody can say that she went through number of operations in a month.

Her shoulder long hair was as usual.

The brightness in her eyes was more than usual.

Only one thing was missing, life like smile that was her asset despite being treated like useless object, she kept this smile but it was no more present on her face.

The gates were open and a van was there for the disposal of the dead body.

The guards went inside from first path and she left from second path.

She saw the building while leaving and saved in her memory, it seemed now she needed to order her brain what to keep and what to ignore.

The guards went in the lab room and saw only broken wires of different life support machines.

Seeing that her pulse turned neutral, the doctors removed many life supporting machines and left her there.

The guards were puzzled.

The doctors told them to collect dead body but there was not anybody much less a dead body.

"Ah, these doctors are on the other level of madness, after ordering someone else to dispose of the body, they ordered us too," the chief spoke displeased.

"Forget it, I am pleased, I don't need to throw out another body," the other guard spoke halfheartedly.

They closed the lab.

Wu Jin was following her first memory now, her home.

She was going to find her home.

This lab was in an unfamiliar place and she needed to find way back to her home.

She forgot that her step mother refused to let her enter the house the previous time.

She also forgot that she was considered a no hope case and usually come hospital for treatment.

Most of her memories were completely washed away with the crude multi surgeries and final current.

She was sixteen years girl with a white long shirt on her body and walking in the empty streets.

Two nightwalkers saw her and stared from head to toe.

After confirming that there was no one around, they reached her.

"Who are you? Do you need our help?" one of them asked and ran his fingers through her hair.

She saw the man who was touching her hair.

If she happened to meet some evil people before her death, she must have gotten scared but now she was only blankly looking.

"Home," she spoke.

The man heard and chuckled, "Oh, you forgot your way home?"

The other man elbowed his friend.

"Home," she again spoke.

The man looked at her and felt weird, but he only wanted to use her, "I will bring you to your home," he picked her wrist, in his happiness, he did not bother to feel her pulse.

The other man also followed.

They were thinking to bring her in their underground place where no one possibly could disturb them.

They walked the empty street and Wu Jin kept following them.
