Liu Sumeng did not even have to think twice when abandoning his assault on Yang Sehan to aid his friends in need. He was ready to turn his heel, leaping backwards to give his current foe some breadth before turning his attention to the slobbering beast.
At least, that had been the case before his eyes met with Chen Anyue's.
She was too far away for him to hear her words but the intensity of her gaze and the movement of her lips were enough.
"Trust us."
Another moment of hesitation.
Yang Sehan took the opportunity to set a block of stone toward the Ivory Sword Saint which he couldn't fully dodge. The large rock was flung into the side of Liu Sumeng's body, threatening to knock him off his feet. He gritted his teeth, just barely able to remain standing.
He knocked the stone aside and rushed forth, ignoring the new bruising throb that will likely form. Yang Sehan's lips twitched downward, dodging a swipe made for his head as he ducked down.
