Maxim shot a warning gaze in Ryle's direction. If he raised his voice at Diana for another time, their friendship would be as good as dead already.
Ryle cleared his throat, taking the cue, and glanced at Diana as if he was looking at a child, "Of course not, Your Highness. How dare I threaten your people?" He said in a coaxing voice.
Maxim narrowed his eyes at him at the 'your people'.
Ryle leaned closer, "Stop glaring at me. I am just trying to help with the situation," he whispered in his ear and nodded assuredly before pulling back.
Before Ryle could talk again, Maxim heard the man named Dexter speaking, "Contract? I can disappear once without you being able to trace my whereabouts for two years. I can do it all over again. I will see who can stop me. Don't push my boundaries. You won't like the outcome," he looked at Ryle with an aloof gaze.
Ryle was ready to argue but Diana glanced at him with wide doe eyes.
