As for Maxim, he did not think too much of it. As displeased as he was with a strange man living with Diana, he did not think that she would be interested in him.
Only Maxim knew how much of direct and indirect approaches, theft of others' love letters and gifts left at her desk, and impeccable acting skills it had taken him before he was finally able to coax Diana into dating him.
