Maxim could feel the cold sweat on her back even through the layers of her white blouse. He instinctively held her closer to himself, her expression unsettled his chest.
''Sign the papers. Right this instant,'' Louis snapped at Maxim when everyone in the room remained silent, ''Or else, I...''
''Or else, you will cut yourself and die here?'' Diana did not know how she found her voice but when she opened her mouth, there was an edge of hardness in her tone that wasn't there earlier, ''If you are discharged, with your condition and antics, you might lose your life outside and then, your people will come blaming this hospital, the doctors and the staff members who are innocent and have nothing to do with the life that you are willingly playing with.''
