I wake up to the smell of a corpse. I opened my eyes and looked up to see a corpse was staring right at me wide open with its dead eyes hanging upside down.
"What the hell?"
Not knowing what to do I observed it for a while from where I was. After a while, nothing had happened. I got up and walked closer carefully to the corpse. It looked like a middle-aged man in a business suit.
It smelled rotten as flies were flying around it.
~It looked like the stomach was torn apart by a big mutant bird.
"It must've been taking its time eating this person."
Its whole stomach was gone and some organs were left hanging out the window.It was possible that the body came here while I was sleeping.
Searching through the body there was nothing. I pushed the body out so that it wouldn't attract any insects that were still around.
As I pushed the body out I didn't hear a single thump. I looked out the window to see that there was a giant bottomless pit and as I looked up I could see the bright sky.
The hole was almost as big as the whole hospital.
I was surprised by the situation.
"What's that sound?"
Looking down and I focused on my hearing. It was faint but I could hear the sounds of insects scurrying.
It got a little louder as the sound made a little vibration. I started to get the creeps as I felt the same ominous feeling from the stairs. The longer I stayed there listening the more dangerous it was becoming.
I put my head back in and decided to leave this city as fast as possible. I walked towards the door and opened it carefully. I got out of there and quickly went down the stairs as fast as possible.
*A few minutes later*
I make it down the stairs. As I went out of the hospital backdoor I hit something on the ground. It was the head of the Red mutant
Its eyes were completely gone as it was staring up at my face.
"This is what you get for hitting me."
Kicking the head across the street it lands right inside the whole of the crumbled building. I hear a sound coming from there as I can hear the skull getting cracked open.
~I really need to get off here before I die.~
I walked at a fast quiet pace so as to not alert whatever it was that was inside there.

After an hour of walking, I ran out of breath trying to get out.
~I really need to build up my stamina someday and how F**KING big is this city?!~
As I said that I walked around the corner of a building and saw a bridge that leads out of the city.
"Lucky me."
Going over the bridge it felt it wasn't long before I went off of it and onto the road. As I got off there was a sign next to the road that said I'll be 3 miles until I get there.
Just doing a little bit of calculation in my head should take only 45 minutes or so.
15 minutes later I was looking around me since It would be boring to just focus on walking. There wasn't much to see as the whole area was deserted. I could only see some trees in the distance that was away from the road.
Looking ahead I started to see something.
"What are those?"
As I spoke my voice cracked noticing my mouth was completely dry. I took my satchel out and opened it.
~Saving my lifesaver(Blood) should be for the best for the future.
I only took a sip holding it in my mouth. It didn't help much since it's blood but the longer I held it in, the taste of blood started to change.
~It tastes sweet. I never would've thought I would taste anything like this again."
Swallowing the rest in my mouth my body felt energized.
~I should be able to get to the city faster now if I run.~
I tried running and I felt faster than when I first ran without drinking anything.
Running for a while, getting closer to what I saw in the distance on the road, I still didn't feel tired at all by running. Looking ahead one by one cars started to appear and as I went on there were vehicles destroyed blocking off the road.
As I go through the wreck of cars I hear something of a wretched scream. I wanted to stay far away from wherever the sound was but as I kept walking the sound got louder.
~I guess I have no choice.~
I had to follow the road to get to the city. Even if I went around and went back onto the road the area was completely like the Savannah grassland. Whatever it was, it can easily see me. Going around it while hiding behind the vehicles would be smarter.
Getting closer to the sound I could already see a fire-like figure.
~For an infecta it's pretty stupid.~
It was banging on a truck not even burning through it.
Although it was hitting the truck from the side the truck was fully open in the back.
One thing about the infecta's 2nd form is its fire-like form as you get closer you would sweat just by being near it. If you were to touch its body you would burn away your skin with it being more than 100 degrees.
I still remember the day as I first saw its 2nd form. The only reason I survived that day was that I fell into a lake with the infecta following me into the lake. It was winter at that time so it easily disappeared leaving some kind of shell as it froze over.
I went back to the surface to see people burning to ashes along with nature as it targets them. Dazed from what I saw still in the freezing water watching everything burn.
