Chapter 34 - RETALIATION

𝙕𝙣𝙖𝙠𝙤𝙢𝙨𝙩𝙫𝙤'𝙨 𝙋𝙊𝙑:

I put on my mask and sat in front of my laptop. I called Keith MaCadie on Skype. He accepted the call immediately. He looked very grim. Maybe he is just hungover from yesterday's masquerade ball.

" What the hell happened to you?" I asked.

" Liam Eaton happened. He found out about us," he said.

" How do you know that?"

" Listen Znakomstvo, you don't know what happened. Liam managed to sneak in inside my private party and he stole away the specimens of crack cocaine. Now he knows about us."

So that bastard Thomas is still alive and he betrayed me. He must have given up the information. It's all Hector's fault. His family drama has caused me this setback. But at least my identity is safe. It's good that I wear a mask in front of everyone.

But I can't get rid of Hector now. He gives me crucial strategies that no one here is capable of even assuming. But his fucking family is the only thing that is pulling him back.

His father Patterson disowned him. And his sister has become an escort for Liam Eaton. Because of saving that escort, Patterson had to switch sides and he captured Thomas. 

" Okay, now. It's doesn't matter if you are exposed or not. Because he is a single person and we are stronger than him. We are going to kick his ass." 

" Fine. But I need that Liam's whore. She is the reason why I wasn't alert. She distracted me cleverly and Liam used that time to do his dirty work. In the end, she humiliated me in front of my father. So I need that whore. " 

I'm starting to think that she is the reason for all my obstacles. I might have underestimated that escort. She did manage to save Liam's ass in that plane. I should take her seriously from now on.

" You don't have to worry about that whore. I'll take care of that. You focus on establishing your network."

" Okay," he retorted.

I closed my laptop. I'm starting to regret my decision of involving the MaCadies. Maybe they aren't the right person. They are just being very ethical and they are not suited for this.

Hector entered my workspace. " What are the latest updates?" he asked.

" Liam found out about MaCadies."

He was wearing an eye patch that covered one of his eyes. But still, I see that he was disappointed.

" We can still work it out," he said.

" No, we are not," I yelled in agony. I couldn't contain it anymore. This guy has sabotaged my plan. " This mission would have ended 3 months ago if it weren't for your ego. And you involved this powerless and cowardly MaCadies who don't even know how to host a masquerade ball without any security breach. I lost my alliance with Patterson because of you, and I had to sacrifice my faithful assistant Thomas because of you. "

Hector was dazed for a while. He was gazing at me as if I was speaking an exotic language." So you are pinning all of your failures on me? "

" Exactly. You got it right. I should have tried to maintain my alliance with Patterson instead of believing in you."

" You are right. You chose wrong. What are you going to do about it?"

This is what I hated the most about him. His arrogance and unnecessary pride. " You are going to fix your Daddy issues. I want Patterson's alliance. "

" How can I do that? He disowned me. "

It was extremely hard to resist the urge to shoot him in the head. But unfortunately, I can't do it. If I kill him then Patterson will never ally with me.

" I don't give a fuck to your family issues or Daddy or your escort sister. I want you to fix the mess which you made. I'm giving you five hours."

I have seen a lot of strong females in my life. I have met female assassins who were skilled in martial arts. But none of them match Daria Ivanova's energy. 

She is one hell of a badass. She lost her husband two years ago. One would say that women don't sustain as a mobster when her male companion dies. 

Usually, the other males would overpower and become the leader. But Daria is a lioness. She managed to control every other alpha male and became an efficient leader. 

She made me wake up from my dreamy life in LA. I was nothing more than Liam's underdog there. But Daria found me and she gave me a new life. 

She thought me about the infinite potential I had within me. Why become a slave when you can be the king? So far I have played my cards right. 

" What is it, my son? " she asked me. I almost forgot that she was near me. Everyone here calls me 'Znakomstvo',  but Daria calls me her ' son'. But I felt delighted whenever she calls me that.

" I just need Patterson back on my team at any cost. With his help, I managed to bury two Eatons effortlessly. But this Hector is sabotaging my plan and I can't wait here anymore."

She didn't say anything for a while. She adjusted her silver-blonde hair and clipped it up as a bun. " You need to wait for the right time my son. Everything comes to us in its own time zone. "

" Do you think I'm on the right path?" I very much needed her judgment on this.

"You are. However, you need to take care of one thing."

" What is it? " I asked her curiously.

" Don't take that Patterson's daughter lightly. She reminds me of myself when I was young. "

What??????  It was hard to imagine Daria as a stupid whore who was obsessed with a gangster.

" I'm not lying. I was just like her. I was obsessed with a married man who was a great mobster. I was willing to do anything for him. I killed people so many people for him. But he was not ready to leave his wife."

" Are you serious? Then what did you do?"

" I was pregnant with his child and he was going on a date with his wife. That was the last string. I confronted him in front of his wife. And then….."

" And then what?" 

" He imprisoned me in a cage until I gave birth to his son. He separated my baby away from me and threw me away from his life like I was his old newspaper. "

She looked gloomy as she said that. I felt sorry for her. " So, that's why you are strong, aren't you?"

" Yes, whatever I went through made me stronger. He might have taken away my child from me but I still had my beauty and skills. I became unstoppable after that. I married the leader of the Russian Mafia. I think you would have understood by now. Hannah is just the young version of me."

I was mind fucked after hearing what she said!
