For someone without contacts in high society, it would take them a month merely to obtain a seat here, thus she questioned how Erick was able to reserve this location.
Is he a member of this establishment? There are many things about Erick that I don't know, especially in regard to matters of upper society, that he didn't seem to be interested in in my previous life. Nevertheless, perhaps I hadn't noticed it previously.
She was thinking about her own ideas, not realizing that Erick might get a hole in his back from the expression she gave him. The manager's talk with Erick was abruptly halted when he strode over to her and smiled at her.
She was startled by Erick's eye contact and quickly averted her gaze to cover up her blush. Erick could only chuckle at her endearing antics because he was aware that she had already captivated him.
"Thea, are you okay? I noticed you gazing at me. Is there anything you need? Do you want to order the meal you want? Whatever, I'll ask the manager to make it now."
Erick wanted to make this date for Thea exceptional.
They claimed that scheduling a table here would take a month, so she shook her head and asked, "No, I'm good. I'm just curious how you were able to reserve this spot in such a short amount of time?"
When she finished speaking, he half-smiled and asked, "Are you questioning because of my low profile, and having a VIP membership here is impossible?"
Yet Thea took his remarks seriously, asking, 'Did my query offend him? You're so stupid, Thea, how can you inquire about such a ridiculous matter when you are aware of the problem with his status? she muttered to herself, cursing her own words.'
Not realizing that Erick was just making fun of her, she immediately grasped his hand in an attempt to make up for her mistake.
She pursed her lips and said, "No Erick, I'm just interested, I'm sorry if it seemed offensive. Please believe me."
'How can I ruin our evening with my stupid mouth?'
"Yes, this is one of my favorite restaurants", she responded with a sour smile on her face in a whisper, regretting all she had said earlier.
"I know, and Anne informed me yesterday, and that's why I brought you here."
She raised an eyebrow at him and asked, "She did?
He gave a nod. During their meal yesterday, Erick and Anne had a chance to chat briefly, and during their conversation, Anne mentioned this restaurant as one of her favorites and the dishes she enjoyed.
"And to answer your question, I do have a VIP membership here, and the owner is one of my old friends, so that's why I can easily get a table here."
'Oh! Erick has contacts in high society, something I didn't know.'
She felt worse for asking now.
"I'm sorry if I offended you, Erick, but please believe me, I'm simply interested. I-I'm really sorry," she stutter-bit her bottom lip in apologies.
As he strongly gripped her hand, Erick saw her gloomy look. She was left with no choice but to watch as his thumb caressed her hand, letting her feel his sincere assurance that everything was fine.
You don't have to say sorry Thea, I'm not upset by your remarks, I'm just teasing you," he said, lifting up her chin to look into her eyes.
He laughed and continued, "Besides, I'm used to people saying those things to me and I don't really care what people say behind my back."
She felt even worse about herself after he said those remarks. She was among those who discussed him behind his back. She felt a twinge of sadness in her heart as she heard it with her own ears because the person in front of her doesn't even have any ill intentions toward those folks.
'I'm sorry, Erick, but you're too good for me.'
She released their grip on one other and gave him a bear hug right away, which caused Erick to freeze. She said, "I'm pleased you're my fiancee Erick, I won't let you go."
Hearing those kind words from her lips touched him; they were like music to his ears. With a broad grin on his lips, he immediately envelops the small figure woman in his arms, much like a kitten would want to feel its owner's warmth.
"You truly enjoy hugging Thea,"
She nodded and giggled at his comments. Erick finds her laughter to be so enjoyable that it makes the cold feel like spring. His sleeping heart, now completely awakened by Thea's lovely actions, finds consolation in her warm embrace.
The pair was currently preoccupied, so. Despite the fact that they are hugging in front of the reception area, where onlookers are curiously observing them as they go past.
They then overheard a loud cough coming from their side. The manager was the one who caught their eye. In contrast to Erick and Thea, who don't mind onlookers' judgmental looks, he was more embarrassed by their public display of devotion.
"General Warton, your table is ready now please follow me," he said after clearing his throat.
Seeing that the manager was staring at them with shame, Erick nodded and grasped Thea's hand as they exchanged glances. All they could do was giggle at the manager's response. When they made their way to the table. She notices how intently everyone is looking at them.
She then heard a woman exclaim, "Is that General Warton, Oh my god, I never realized he was this handsome, He is like a male supermodel," the woman squeals with glee and turns to face Erick as if he were a piece of meat to be sold.
Thea could only direct a lethal gaze at the two women since she finds their attention on Erick to be disturbing.
She glared at a woman, who then asked, "Who's that woman with him? I never heard he had a girlfriend, maybe his sister?"
The other woman replied "Yah! She's ugly anyway to be his partner, Did you see how she glared at us"
"Don't mind her, Oh! how I wish to be his girlfriend, do you think he would like me"
"She's ugly anyway to be his partner, Did you notice how she glared at us," the other woman retorted.
"Don't worry about her, but do you think he'd like me if I became his girlfriend?"
'Ugly? Me! Have they looked in the mirror to see themselves? And who is it that claims Erick wouldn't like me? EXCUSE ME, she reasoned.
Thea lifted an eyebrow in irritation at those words. She turned her attention to Erick's side profile and clicked her tongue in disapproval of what she had heard.
Erick, how can I protect you from those flies? She reflected, 'You're too darn hot for your own good.'
A sly smile then appears on her face.
Despite the fact that they are moving, she is able to fit her entire body into Erick's arms. She knew her plan was ridiculous, but she didn't care since she wanted to brag to those obnoxious women about her claim to Erick.
Erick, who was not aware of it, overheard what the woman said to him and quietly watched Thea's response. She gave him an unflattering side profile, which he also noted.
He thought, keeping a poker face and pretending he wasn't paying attention to what was going on around him, 'You're too charming Thea.'
The next development caught Thea off guard as Erick pulled her close to his body by wrapping his arms around her waist. Now that her head was resting on his chest and he was tightly holding her waist, there was no space between them.
Her face broke into a cheeky smile. She took a quick glance at the two women, who were now glaring at them with resentment, to add fuel to the fire. Erick felt Thea's hand on his chest and he responded by massaging the side of her waist.
She chuckled quietly,'At least my fiancee knew how to cooperate.'
The two women who witnessed their passionate embrace pursed their lips in the meantime, and Thea gave them one more accusing gaze.
Look at that, b*tch.
observing their irate faces. Thea grinned cheerily as if she had won a championship.
Erick was only able to watch her with amusement, and he had to admit that he was enjoying how jealous she was of him.
