Chapter 9 - MYS 9 Duo 'R'

MYS 9

...

"I'm serious, Anggi. That's a poor cellphone, after a while no one uses it, it will break."

"Sell it then."

"Sell it to you, then, okay?"

There were about fifteen seconds I was silent, thinking.

"How much?"

"One hundred thousand rupiahs."

"What phone is so cheap?"

"It's okay. I'll bring it tomorrow."

"Okay."

But I couldn't sleep well at night. What kind of cellphone is Jono trying to sell to me for a hundred thousand silver?

"An, you know Jono's cellphone, which he said was idle at home? He wants to sell it to me." In the end, I called Ana to find the answer.

"Oh that...if I'm not mistaken it's the iPhone X...."

Enough!

I guess I got this wrong.

Choose Ana who has a neighboring sultan's son!

Today should be the schedule for field practice in the back garden of the chicken farm. However, due to sudden heavy rain and the supervising teacher who doubles as a sports teacher, there was a meeting to discuss the inter-school basketball competition, so the practice was canceled.

Instead, we had to do three homework, namely a report on yesterday's harvest, yesterday's harvest work agenda, and a postal letter about yesterday's harvest experience pretending to be sent to distant relatives. It's more like a beautiful composing task. But better than having to rain in the garden.

Ana, Jono, Edi, and Ebi as members of the school basketball team were also required to attend the meeting. Therefore, I chose to join the girls rather than the land crocodiles who mostly chose to imitate the work of their friends without bothering to think.

"Anggi, will you come home from school and play at my house? Resti and Riska are also coming..." asked Stefie shortly after I finished my work schedule.

"Okay."

"Sip, I'll go straight to my car, okay?"

"Ready."

Can be counted on the fingers Stefie invites me to play to his house. It was only once at the beginning of the new school year and that was because I had to. More precisely, I was invited to go home with Stefie because she was feeling up.

I don't even know what the word lazy means?

That's how bad I am!

Stefie is a truly modern type of girl. Anything that comes out of Stefie's mouth is not far from Korean boy bands, boyfriends, crushes, artist gossip, make-up, the latest and up-to-date fashion trends. While the ability of my brain insight is not that far, that's why I often feel inferior to myself. Can't keep up with the slang Stefie. However, Duo R aka Riska and Resti were able to do it even though they were girls with headscarves.

I'm not judging the Duo R as bad or anything, it's just that I'm too amazed by it. And, to be wondering if I live in what era?

Why do I feel like this?

Is this the effect of the mother's legacy HP?

Or is it the effect of not having a TV in the rented house, which every time you buy it, it's immediately stolen by a thief? Until finally my father decided it was better not to have a TV.

Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't bother trying to figure out such things?

I don't know.

My focus is only about surviving with the food stock that is at home because mom and dad often fast, have very minimal pocket money, learn to adapt to a new environment and try to be in the top five ranks. And the main thing is that I will only do something useful like badminton every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

The R duo are Resti and Riska, Riska and Resti. There's no Stefie among them, even though she hangs out together more often.

Duo R always goes together. Everywhere always together at almost every time and opportunity. Like a betel split in two. That's Duo R.

While Stefie or I am just a supporting role. People who hitch a ride in their lives. This isn't a drama. This is reality speak TheThey Duo R seems to have a life of their own that no one else can touch even though we are girls.

Maybe Duo R has a special recitation program because their house is also close by. Having their study group because every time there is a group assignment they are always together, cannot be separated or Duo R will protest why they are not together. Selengket is the fabric of their friendship. Things I would never get once with Ana.

As an ordinary human being, as a girl who is still growing, of course, I envy Duo R. Having a friend as well as a best friend like Duo R is one of my dreams before the harsh reality hit. But, no matter how I am now, I must still be grateful for what I have. Be grateful for what God has given you. Besides, I like who I am now. What is, is nothing. Hahaha...

"Anggi, do you have Jonathan's cellphone number?" said Rika suddenly.

"I don't have it. But I'll try to ask Ana later if you want." I replied and tried to find my mother's old cellphone in the bag.

nothing.

Oh yes, I forgot, if my cellphone was at home.

"Now can?" Resti's voice was urgent.

"Sorry Res, I left my cellphone at home." Honestly, I'm curious as to what's going on with them, as if they insisted on knowing Jono's cellphone number.

"You have Stef?" Resti said to Stefie who was busy writing.

"No. I once asked him, he didn't know his cellphone number." closed Stefie continuing her writing activities.

"May I know what to do?" I asked idly but curious to the maximum.

"Yes Anggi, this is the senior who from the archery club asked me. Please help me." Riska's pitiful face is very obvious.

"What are you going to do when you get the number?" ugh why am I so stupid...

"Anggi, make it closer. What else are you trying to do?"

"I don't know about that, that's why I asked Res."

"You don't know, Jonathan is famous in our school. He's Caucasian, maximum handsome, smart, basketball boy, rich, his son is not arrogant..."

"I see..." It took me about ten seconds to think straight.

"That's that famous, Jono." I hissed more to myself.

"OMG... Anggi...! Where have you been? You don't know about the hottest trending news?" shrieked Stefie who spontaneously threw her pen in any direction.

"Sorry, sorry. I'm just tired. Hahahaa..." I dodged before Stefie's hand landed on my head. He doesn't know if this morning I just washed my hair using Jono's expensive shampoo.

"Eh Anggi, you're Ana's close friend. Don't you know?"

"No"

"Did Ana never tell you about Jonathan?"
