Patel took a deep breath before she aimed at the target's that Jacob had set for her to shoot at. She has been training for five days now and her skills have gotten so much better using the gun.
"Take a deep breath and shoot." Jacob signalled to her.
Patel took a deep breath just like Jacob told her and pointed the gun at the target and pulled the trigger shooting at the target one after another shooting them all.
Jacob smiled impressed by her, She had shot all the targets perfectly.
"You did well." Jacob signalled to her.
Patel nodded her head and looked back at the target's that she shot thinking about what will happen, And how her life will change in the next few days.
"I will go back to my room." Patel said signalling and he nodded his head she left.
On her way to her room, She saw her father entering the mansion. She wanted to just keep walking and just avoid him but she knew that she would be punished if did this.
"Patel, My girl, How is your training going?" He asked knowing that she won't be able to hear him, That's how her father is, A cruel man.
Henry chuckled feeling satisfied seeing the look of weakness in her eyes, He patted her head and left.
Patel walked back to her room not bothered with what her father did, She got used to him and his ways of hurting her.
She closed the door and the windows and the curtains making the room dark with no light coming inside, She went to lay down on the bed and closed her eyes, Patel tried to calm herself down and try to listen to her surroundings but everything was quiet in her ears, She wondered what it would be like to be able to hear, To be able the sound of the wind, the rain, The sound of the bird's chirping, These are things that she only read about in books.
Patel always wondered why she was born like this when both her parents are healthy, Is it because she is cursed? Does God not love her?.
She turned to lay on her side placing her hand on the soft sheets and closed her eyes. She just wanted to rest for a while but sleep took over her and by the time she opened her eyes, it was already morning.
Patel got off the bed and walked towards the bathroom, Her mind was blink and she was unable to think of anything, In less than two days she will have to face things that she is not ready for but to run away from her father she will do anything, Even if it meant that she will be punished for her father mistakes, But at least she is away from him.
Once she was done with the bathroom and got dressed, Patel made her way towards the dining table to find her father and mother already sitting at the table, Jacob was there in the room as always standing behind her father, She hated the fact that he has to stand like this while her father enjoyed his meals, But what else she will expect from a despicable man like her father.
Jacob offered her a warm smile when their eyes met. The smile disappeared quickly without her father noticing. It would cause a problem if Henry discovered Jacob's feelings towards Patel right now. That's why he needs to be careful with how he interacts with her.
He has decided to not act upon his feelings, He will only be her shield and nothing more, No personal feelings involved, Because it will only make him detract from his main goal and is to protect at all costs.
