The scorpion-like monster tried to size Kaori up. The Savior kept her eyes on the enemy as she tried to calm her nerves, hoping it wouldn't see the civilians nearby. It was a fairly intimidating creature, even without taking its level into account. The monster was massive, about the size of a large wagon, and thick enough to promise strong, powerful blows with its claws.
Kaori took a moment to remind herself that she was, in theory, stronger than this enemy. As it soon started slowly moving forward, however, its legs clicking along the dirt, Kaori gripped her swordstaff's hilt all the more tightly.
Remember your spells, remember your techniques. You can't fail these people, she thought as the scorpion launched itself her way.
With that, the battle began.
