Evie could feel the extremely heavy tension that was hanging between them right now due to the seriousness of his statement. She could also see what seemed like animal ferocity glittering in his eyes. There was also a mix of passion and lust swirling together in them and at that moment, Evie's fear spiked up to an intense level. The worse thing was that the way he looked at her, his warm quick breath against her skin, his hard and perfectly toned muscles pressing against her body were all making her body react to him. She was confused as why this was happening. Though he was not her Gavriel, her body's reaction was somehow responding to this man as though he was truly Gavriel.
