He Zhuang swallowed the lump inside his throat. He held He Mingzhu's hand and pulled her from behind his back.
Patting her back gently, he said as gently as he could
"He is Dad. Zhuzhu doesn't need to feel scared of him. Dad doesn't harm anyone."
He Mingzhu looked at He Zhuang with wide eyes and then at Grandfather He with fear-filled eyes. Though she was still scared she nodded her head.
He Zhuang stroked her hair and said
"Let's go to our room. You need to rest."
He Zhuang then started to walk He Mingzhu to his room. He had already asked the servant to shift his things to the room on the ground floor.
His room was on the first floor before but he was afraid that in his absence if He Mingzhu came out of the room then she would have to climb the stairs which were not good for her legs.
Although the doctor said that she could move this much, He Zhuang was not willing to let his Mingzhu suffer even a little.
"Zhuang!"
