Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - The Cloud Bunny

"Oh lord, Qu Wren swam to the surface!!!" someone shouted aloud.

Diago swam up swiftly to but he could find his brother in the turbulent waves. "WREN!! Where are you!!" he shouted, but all he could hear was the loud screeching and growling above him. A strong pressure originated from the deep red sky. It was as if the entire expanse of the sky was ablaze.

"Screech!!!!" some creature loudly screeched, followed by a huge blast of flames.

Diago became terrified. 'Wren.... where is he? How can my baby brother deal with this pressure?' He was just a thousand year old beast and the feeling of this ancient being made his bone tremble. "W—Wren... where are you, brother? It's not safe," he shouted, swimming swiftly.

Qu Wren on the other hand happily opened his shell, waiting for the heavenly rain to gift him a droplet of spiritual energy.....

He glanced at the red sky and sighed, "Ahhh so that's what sky looks like.....but I thought it was blue. I'm pretty sure Ren said it was blue,"

"Where is my rain droplet, though?" he anxiously thought. The rain was pitter pattering around him, but none of the droplets landed inside his mouth. "Maybe I should swim further,"

He swam a little further away into the huge tidal waves and opened his shell again. The clouds turned flaming red casting a huge dark shadow down below. Further he went, more his heart trembled unknowingly. 'What is going on? What is that? Is that a cloud bunny?'

Suddenly a huge fire ball blasted reviling a huge silhouette of a bird. He watched it with his eyes wide open. "What the hell.... why is there fire up in the sky?" he glanced around to find none of the oyster youngsters around him. "This feels bad... but No, I will not swim down without my heavenly drop of spiritual energy," he stiffly opened his mouth and waited.

A small drop dripped into his wide open mouth and he swiftly closed his shell, capturing it safely. Rolling the little round crystallised droplet around, he tasting its rick ironness of it. "Water above the surface tastes weird too.... but I heard it used to be sweet though,"

"Anyway, my work is done," Wren took a fleeting glance at the silhouette above and swam back in. But his group was not found anywhere, even his brothers were not nearby. "Darn, I swam too far," he changed back to his human form and swam swiftly under.

On the other side, Ren led the other oyster cubs back to safety, throwing worried glances at the surface at times. Even in the depths he was able to see the bright red flashes from above.

Hachin worriedly glance at the surface as well. "Brother, when will Wren come back? Is it safe up there?"

"Stay here, I shall see what's going on," Rene whispered, and he swiftly swam up like a bullet. Unknown to him, a red clothes figure followed after him as well.

"Diago! Wren!! Where are they?" Ren wordily swam through the turbulent waves. At the distance he was able to see a white head. He swam towards it without any hesitation, leaving the red figure behind.

Hachin watched him swim away with a frown. "I should probably wait here for that stupid Wren. Why does he always get in trouble like this? So hateful," he humped. His eyes unwillingly wandered over to the red sky. He was able to see shadows of two majestic creatures screeching and clawing at each other with might. "What kind of creatures are they?" he wondered.

Suddenly he felt the surrounding pressure lower. His heart stopped beating in fear, Hachin glanced up at the red sky to see a huge black eyes peering at him from above.

Even his bone trembled by this mysterious creature's presence. 'I—I have to get out of here....' he tried to move but his legs and hands froze stiff. The creature took another glance at him before the clouds hid it.

Only then Hachin was able to let out a deep breath. Panting, he looked down. "....That creature is powerful... done that stupid Wren get eaten by it," he wondered. He worriedly glanced up again. Right then, a drop of water dripped onto his lips. Eh licked it. "Its blood," he tried spitting it out, but the blood formed into a small bead and rolled down his throat.

"What did I just eat..."

"Hachin!!! Why are you up here as well? Get back down there," Ren swam over to him and gripped his hands.

"Where is Wren did you guys find him?" he frowned.

"Yeah, Diago found him. He is already with the group. Let's go," Ren loosed his hold and led him back down to the group of young oysters.

Down below Diago was shouting loudly at the pink haired Wren. "You could have died, you stupid idiot. Do you know how risky it was?"

"But it was just rain and thunder," Qu Wren whispered with a downcast look.

Diago smacked his head. "No! It was a heavenly beast having a bout in air." he shouted.

The young oysters all exclaimed in shock. Heavenly beasts are few and rare, and they rarely come down to their human realm.

Qu Wren peaked up at him. "Really, I thought it was just thunder though. I guess the clouds did look like a bird,"

"Goodness, what am I going to do with you, you bonehead,"

"Enough, let's get them back home," Ren patted the frustrated Diago's head.

And so, the young oysters were sent back home.

Wren and Hachin who live opposite to each other swam together silently with the two guardian brothers.

Hachin peered at Wren from the other side of his house. "Stupid, you made it alive."

Qu Wren pouted, "I'm not stupid," he huffed and went back in, leaving the other oyster peering at the empty space.

"Don't worry, he was unharmed, just swimming around," Ren assured him and sent him to his own door. "But what you did was stupid as well. I know you care about him Hachin, but following us to the surface knowing the risks....."

"Who said I care about him?" Hachin huffed and closed the door after him.

Diago patted Ren's shoulders. "Leave them be, they will sort it out themselves. They are childhood friends after all."
