His lips lingered on her forehead. Her eyes were poised with fear, anxiety and confusion. What did he mean by that?
"At least you remained true to yourself and me...if not anything else."
She felt his words on the skin of her temple and he let her go.
She had expected him to lash out, lose his mind, act impulsively...try to hurt her the same way she had done to him.
He was about to leave but she held him back. He was standing as she held his arms.
"Is this...are we over?"
The fear danced in her voice.
"What do you think?"
He threw the question back at her. And that too so very calmly that it got on her nerves. It irked her too much.
"Why...why are you not angry at me??
Why are you not lashing out at me??
