"Mackenzie! Stay behind me!" Joyce heard that same voice shouting at her again.
She turned to look at the source of that commanding voice the same way she had done before. And she saw Theodore suddenly swooping in and spreading out his massive wings in front of her.
Joyce already knew what he was going to say next. And just as she had thought, he reprimanded, "I asked you to stay behind, Mackenzie! Why won't you listen to me?"
And Joyce complained in a similar manner as before, "But I am not a child anymore! I can help you, you know."
She turned to her side and shot a fireball at the incoming arrows. The arrows got melted into nothing before they could reach anywhere near the two of them.
"I can watch your back."
Joyce turned around to focus on the enemies behind them. There were quite a few angels in their golden armor, swooping in as if they were birds of prey. She glared at some of them and prepared to retaliate.
