It was purely impossible to not like Liam. Oliver had reconciled that part with himself. He was touched by Liam's simple efforts to make him cheer up, even though he sucked at it. Liam may not know it, but it has made him feel a lot better. While they ate, he could tell Liam was curious to ask him questions, but Liam didn't. Instead, he talked about unrelated things, asking about his favourite classical music and so on, even though he knew nothing about classical music. It was obvious.
And when they were done eating, Oliver offered to wash the plates. Although Liam initially refused, when Oliver persisted, he allowed him to do it. His headache had gone down, but his eyes were still heavy, and he felt a little dopey.
"You are spending the night here." Liam said when he turned around after he was done with the dishes.
He nodded. There was no point in arguing. He didn't want to be alone or go to the estate or anywhere people would find him.
