Bertha was more than just nervous. She knew this time would come and was prepared for the answer, but when it actually happened, her mind went blank.
Zerith observed her in confusion. "Bertha? What happened? Is everything okay?" he asked in concern.
She didn't know how to react and only nodded her head. But Zerith was not convinced.
"Where is Theodora, Bertha?"
For some reason, he found the situation quite suspicious. Bertha only fueled his suspicion.
"She is inside the house, right?"
Bertha didn't realise when she nodded her head in a yes.
"Let me see her." Zerith stood up and began walking to the door.
Bertha came back to her senses and ran to stop him.
"Zerith! She... she is in the bathroom. She woke up late today so..."
"No problem! I will wait for her in her room."
