Oscar listened to Gerald attentively but didn't understand what he was referring to. He had never heard Gerald talk so pessimistically. But he genuinely wanted to help.
"Gerald you need to tell me everything clearly. I promise I will help you, no matter what!" Oscar showed his support and encouraged him to talk.
Gerald was silent for a few moments before he dropped a bomb on Oscar's head.
"I am going to be a father, Oscar."
Oscar choked on his own spit, his eyes went round in shock.
"Wh-what?"
"And the mother of my child... she is not Bertha."
If his wound had not brought the dark patches in front of Oscar's eyes, then that news surely did. It took him five minutes to tell himself that it was not his dream but reality.
But then his eyes widened again as his head shot up at a lightning speed. Grabbing Gerald's shoulders, he almost pleaded.
