After a delicious dinner, Theodora lay her back on her soft bed and just like during the dinner, her mind went to Gerald, again. When she took the first bite of that delicious and aromatic food, she found the taste of the fish and rice she had eaten in the afternoon more tempting. And now that her body sighed in bliss against that soft mattress, she couldn't help but think that Gerald would be sleeping on the hard uneven ground with those wounds on his body.
That very thought disturbed her, and she felt as if she should feel guilty for enjoying these fortunes when he was still living in the rags.
But then why should she feel guilty? He was not the closest person in her life, nor was he her family. Then why should she care about him? He was not the only one who lived that life full of hardships. There were thousands of people who lived worse than him.
So did that mean she should feel guilty because of their plight too?
