The chirping of birds and the light that flooded the room disturbed Theodora's sleep. She stirred, only feeling pain in her back. Her eyes opened into slits to find that she was sleeping awkwardly on the couch. A blanket covered her body which she didn't remember taking last night.
She slowly sat up, stretching her hands back to relax her strained muscles. Looking out of the window, she groaned, seeing the Sun making its way into the sky.
Where does the night pass so fast? She had slept for what… maybe five or ten minutes?
The door of her bathroom opened, and the scent of rose petals wafted in the whole room. She turned her head to see Bertha walking her way. Anger surged in Theodora's mind as she stood up from the couch, not paying attention to her aching back.
Bertha was smiling, looking happy and that only triggered Theodora more.
