Chapter 5 - Righteous Evil Flower

There's a way for everyone in the story to get their happy ending, including Lady.

"That's right! I'll just have to act as the villainess who harasses the heroine and let myself get disowned later on...!" she chirped, raising her chin up and puffing her chest out, acting like her genius was showing.

"I mean, getting disowned isn't really that bad. I don't want to stay in a family who doesn't want me, anyway. I'll just make sure I won't go crazy in the end, which I'm sure I won't since I'm one hundred percent on the protagonist's side. Once I'm sent abroad to live with one of the Mireille's branch families, I'll start over and have a new life."

Lady feels confident about this plan of hers.

All she has to do is to follow through the plot - to become the sacrificial lamb that'll give everyone their happy ending. Besides, being the villainess isn't as bad as she initially thought. Playing that role is pretty much like trying out a new flavor.

"Well, since Sarah's character is based on mine, playing Lady's character will definitely be a whole new experience!"

Unlike the heroine who is reserved and lonesome - personalities that she couldn't help but develop in her past life because of her illness, the villainess is domineering and straightforward. She's someone who's always bursting with chaotic energy, and even though she's undeniably bad, she still has a few good points.

If it was not for her sickness, she would want to be as cheerful and vivacious as her. Now that she's healthy, though, she can strive to be like her.

With that in mind, Lady bolts up from her seat and pumps her fists, grinning from ear to ear.

"Alright! That's it...!" she shouted ecstatically, her eyes sparkling.

"I'll be the worst villainess ever! I'll be a righteous evil flower! Bwahahaha!"

And she let out a villainous laugh.

Or at least she tried to.

She ends up erupting in a fit of coughs after forcing herself to cackle. It was so bad that it caught the attention of her caretaker who was waiting outside the bathroom the whole time. She heard knocking on the door then, making her snap out of her delusional 'villainess' moment.

"Are you alright, Ms. Mireille? Did you choke or something?" asked her caretaker.

Lady began to panic a little.

The paper with her writings is out in the open to see, and even if what's written there goes unnoticed, she'll still be questioned if it's seen, considering that one doesn't normally bring a sheet and a pen to the shower. So, she scrambled to her feet, opened the lid of the toilet, and sat on it, pretending that she's dropping a load.

"I-I'm fine! I-It's just that...!" Lady stammered out, trying to think of an excuse.

"That my shit was so big that I choked!"

Her caretaker lets out a gasp but otherwise keeps quiet.

After Lady finished her business, she went out of the bathroom and tried not to make eye contact. Of course, she'd be embarrassed. The silent treatment she received from her caretaker who seemed to be acting a little awkward was enough reason for her to be.

But little did Lady know that the scrutiny she's getting at that moment was mostly because she used the word 'shit' instead of the word 'poop' that every normal six-year-old would've used.

---

Before Lady knows it, there is only a couple of hours left before the dinner party.

She has stayed in her hotel room the whole day, thinking to herself and going over her plan several times. At more than one point, a feeling that something significant will happen tonight had made itself know to her. She tried to figure out what it was, but up until her time eventually ran out, she failed to recall anything.

Now that she is on her way to the venue of the occasion, escorted by her caretaker and bodyguard as always, she has completely forgotten about ever having that feeling.

'Woah, I really look pretty in this dress. It's my first time wearing something so expensive,' Lady mused with delight.

She takes a look at her reflection on the tinted glass walls while she walks down the hall that leads to the event place.

Her outfit for tonight is a scarlet-red floral partywear attire that comes with a stylish and fashionable bodice, which consists of an enthralling arrangement of roses that create an intricate web and some complementing flares in its plain nets and velvet satins - in short, it's what a princess wears. Even her hair is styled into a long, wavy updo with tiny little flowers adorning it.

'Me sure is cute, though~ I mean, I do resemble my hot stuff of a fake daddy. How can I not be a cutie?'

Too caught up in her self-glorifying thoughts, she starts lightly pinching her cheeks and squishing the softness out of them. She's still staring at her reflection on the tinted glass walls as she does so, playing around and enjoying herself.

That's until they reached the end of that corridor. It was only when she found herself coming face-to-face with a young boy's deadpan look that she realized she could actually be seen from the other side of the wall the whole time.

"Hey, ugly, what were those wacky faces for?"

At that, Lady grimaced.
