'This love was killing him?'
Nevaeh stood transfixed, solely staring at Engel as she wondered what he meant. How was their love killing him?
What was he trying to say?
"Engel," She called as her heels moved to walk closer to him one more time, but again he shook his head, wordlessly telling her not to come any closer, and she paused.
"Do not come near me, Nevaeh. I might lose my mind and become selfish with you again." He told her, making a frown crease her brows. "I might forget all about the consequences of having you here with me, and I don't want to because, by the creator, there are so many consequences!" He growled with agitation, pushing his trembling hand through his dark lock of hair with a strain of frustration.
Nevaeh unblinkingly stayed her eyes on him as his every word looped in her head and pricked her heart in ways she couldn't comprehend.
