"Why is she still cold?" Engel ferociously demanded of Araminta, who was brewing another potion for Nevaeh after the many others she had given had proved ineffective.
It's been three hours since she passed out after surviving Sanaiah's experiment of being drowned, and she was yet to wake up, but her body was chilled like that of one in a morgue.
The chatterings of her teeth filled the room as she shivered controllably, and no matter what they tried, nothing was warming her up, not even his warmth or the damned potion Araminta had been feeding her.
"There has to be something. She's freezing to death!" Engel roared with his shoulders vibrating with tremors.
"If you can stop shouting!" Araminta snapped back, and Engel's eyes darkened as he darkly brooded.
He wasn't sure she had just snapped at him. His eyes darkened more than they'd been in the last hours, and Araminta took a retreating step at the sight of the rage in his eyes.
