Draken Hook's eyes widened in anger upon hearing the young dominant's words. He was already raising his arm to hit him but the anger he could see in Evan's eyes showed him that the younger alpha was ready to fight back. He wouldn't take the blow quietly like he used to and as if to confirm, the young dominant let out his pheromones.
Since his son's mate always acted submissive, the leader never got a chance to feel the power of his pheromones. Evan was not an extraordinarily strong werewolf. However, the power he felt in his pheromones and the determination in his eyes were enough to make Draken realize that if he challenged the younger dominant, the latter would respond to the provocation and only stop when he won.
