" But...sir...we already announced the selected candidates for the post. And she was willing to join the company. I checked her academy record. She is the topper in her studies. Not only that the previous work experience was excellent. In one year, she did her best for that company " Mr. Lewis informed Cameron.
Then he continued, " Most importantly it would be against the rules of our company …" in a hesitating tone.
Mr. Lewis was the senior employee in the company and he was working for twenty-five years in the company. Moreover, he is one of Cameron's father's close friends since college time.
" You are talking just like my father. Don't think in an old attitude…" Cameron said sternly.
" Think once more, Mr. Richards. We should not lose a talented person for our company. She is smart and talented…." Lewis tried to explain.
Cameron thought for a while and said, " If she is so talented then let me test her…" In his mind, he had a different plan. so he ordered him to send Ava to his cabin.
" Do you want to take her interview then? " Mr. Lewis questioned him.
" Yeah….send her to my cabin. I need to test her…" Cameron informed him and walked to his cabin.
" Is he interested in taking an interview or interested in that young lady? " Mr. Lewis thought in his mind.
He knew Cameron very well, especially his relationship with different women. He knew his attitude was wrong about women but he was helpless. Even though he is older than him and his family friend, he could say anything against him because he works under him and he needs to follow his orders. Not only that he likes Cameron personally.
He knew his lifestyle is different from Kevin but he is as good as his brother, Kevin. He always wanted Cameron to take the relationship seriously. He reminded Kevin and his working style. He used to follow the company rules just like his father whereas Cameron is the opposite of his brother. He is good at work like Kevin but never follows the company rules. He used to bring women to his cabin and enjoy his time even during working hours. Many times, Senior Richards had arguments about this topic but Cameron never listens to anyone.
When Mr.Lewis was in his thoughts, Ava went to take her appointment from the HR department with so much excitement. Just in time, the HR executive got a call from Lewis's cabin.
" Please...go and meet Mr.Lewis who is the HR head of the company, " the HR executive said. She looked at her confusingly and walked towards the HR cabin taking slow steps. She felt impatient because she was needed for the job.
As soon as Ava entered his cabin," Hello...Miss. Ava. We are so impressed with your academic records and performance in the interview. So we selected you as Marketing Head but…." Mr. Lewis hesitated to speak.
She looked blankly at Mr. Lewis. " But...What happened, Sir? " Ava asked with a disappointed look.
" But our CEO wants to take your final interview to appoint you for this job," Mr. Lewis said.
" What! Will the CEO take my interview? " she asked with surprise.
" Yeah...Just go to the fifteenth floor. There will only be one cabin. He is waiting for you to take the interview, " he informed her. As she needed the job in this company, she decided to meet the CEO even though she was disappointed with the company's weird rules.
" Okay, sir…" She replied with a fake smile. She cursed inside about the rules. She took the elevator and reached the fifteen floor.
" Mr. Richards, I sent her to your cabin," Mr. Lewis informed Cameron over the call.
Once she reached the CEO's floor, she came out of the elevator. She closed her eyes and took a long breath to calm her mind.
" You can do it…" she boosted herself to get some confidence in her then slowly took steps towards his cabin. She noticed a nameplate CEO cabin.
" May I come in, sir? " she said while opening the door slightly.
" Come in…" Ava heard a male voice and stepped inside nervously holding her documents in her hand.
