Liao Ru sat in her seat with her arms crossed. She opened her eyes sensing Yan Mei stand up then she stood up and they both made their way down to the battleground. The crowd was silent as this was a very important battle for both Yan Mei and Liao Ru. Yan Mei is a firm believer of a Deity Monster and gained their power while Liao Ru is a firm believer of the Sovereigns and uses the power of faith to her advantage.
"It's Liao Ru and Yan Mei. These two are believed to be the strongest fighters in this year's School Battle. Last year Yan Mei struck down Liao Ru with a critical blow, but will things end the same this year?!" The announcer asked as he watched.
Saito and I watched the battleship. Yusa watched the battle from her office and had her arms crossed. Sayoko watched the battle from her dorm room and was cheering for Liao Ru. The entire St. Fraskia academy was cheering for Liao Ru.
"Get her Yan Mei!" A woman yelled.
"Knock her out of the park again! Two for two!" A man yelled.
Yan Mei looked at Liao Ru. "It's not too late to join the side of Mysticism. You can also gain this kind of power if you just accept your calling."
"My calling...is with Valkyrias. St. Fraskia! This year, I defeat you!" Liao Ru said then her battlesuit appeared on her body.
"Hmph...unfortunately you will be taking another loss then.." Yan Mei said.
"I have been training...I will not lose easily like last time. This time I show you what I learned!" Liao Ru said then glared.
"Begin!" The referee said then vanished.
Liao Ru dashed towards Yan Mei and went for a barrage of strikes. Yan Mei dodged them all with ease and ducked when Liao Ru went for a spinning kick. Yan Mei struck Liao Ru's side with her thumb causing Liao to grunt and stiffen her body. Yan Mei followed up with a clean punch to Liao Ru's cheek, sending her flying. Liao Ru landed on her feet then slid backwards and grunted. She launched herself back toward Yan Mei then went for more attacks at her. Yan Mei began to swiftly dodge each attack once again.
"It seems like Liao Ru can't seem to land a single hit on Yan Mei! This seems like Liao Ru could be in great danger right now!" The announcer commentated.
"Come on Liao! You've got this!" Yumeji cheered.
"Let's go Liao!" Misao cheered.
Yan Mei parried multiple strikes from Liao then palmed her stomach and used her aura to push her backwards. "Wave Crasher!" Yan Mei bellowed then sent a powerful wave of water at Liao Ru.
Liao looked surprised then was hit with the powerful wave. She crashed into the wall and groaned loudly. The wave disappeared and Liao Ru fell to her knees and coughed.
Yan Mei looked at Liao then closed her eyes. "Face it, Liao...As a fellow Martial Artist, you aren't on my level."
Liao Ru slowly stood up and her hair slowly turned into flames. She yelled and flames surrounded her body. "I'm not giving up easily!"
"Liao Ru! Come on!" Kikyo cheered.
Liao Ru looked up at Yan Mei then vanished and appeared in front of Yan Mei. She went for a punch then Yan Mei dodged the punch and grabbed Liao Ru's arm, tossing her away. Liao Ru somersaulted backwards then landed on her feet then rushed towards Yan Mei once again. She surrounded her hands in multicolored flames then went for a barrage of strikes. Yan Mei dodged them all and her eyes shined then she parried Liao Ru's attack and palmed her chest then kicked her away. Liao Ru coughed a bit then rolled on her side.
"Even with this awakening, it seems like Liao Ru can't land a single strike on Yan Mei! Liao Ru is still outclassed by Yan Mei!" The announcer yelled.
Liao Ru slowly stood up and her eyes shined red. She was getting pissed off and Orishi noticed.
"Liao Ru! Clear your mind! Rage won't allow you to win this fight! You have to be free and flow like the wind like you've always done!" Orishi called out.
Liao Ru heard her voice then her eyes turned back into a dark blue. She took a deep breath and exhaled. Golden particles flowed around Liao's body. She cleared her mind and imagined a droplet of water falling into a pond then her Spirit Energy exploded. Yan Mei grunted, feeling the high winds and the heat from Liao Ru's body.
"What's this people?! Liao Ru just- Wait those gauntlets....Those gauntlets are Divine Weapons! The Ruler of Inferno wielded those weapons! And that form..." The announcer said in a shocked manner.
Liao Ru now had flaming wings coming form her back. She awakened the true power of her battlesuit and now was in control of the Phoenix Form of her battlesuit. The weapons she wielded were also called The Hands of Inferno. In the Phoenix Form she could control and have mastery of 100% of the Fire Element.
"I've never seen Yan Mei get like this before even during last year's School Battle...Is Liao Ru really stronger now..?" Mae asked.
Liao Ru launched herself at Yan Mei with a powerful kick and Yan Mei dodged it then looked surprised as she was hit in her stomach. The crowd was stunned. Yan Mei groaned as she slid backwards.
"An...afterimage..?!" Yan Mei said in shock.
Liao Ru placed one hand behind her back then looked at Yan Mei seriously. Yan Mei stood up straight and looked at Liao Ru then exhaled, clearing her mind once again. She awakened her Wuxin Mode and dashed towards Liao Ru. She went for multiple strikes, but Liao Ru took each strike and it only powered her up more. Yan Mei flinched back in shock.
"Liao Ru!" Yumeji, Kikyo, and Misao cheered.
Liao Ru struck Yan Mei's stomach then Yan Mei groaned and coughed. Liao went for a spinning kick and it connected, sending Yan Mei flying. Liao flew in the air, flying above Yan Mei. The crowd looked up and watched Liao Ru fly in the air.
"Phoenix...Rush!" Liao bellowed and cloaked herself in flaming aura that was shaped like a phoenix. She flew down to the ground and slowed down Yan Mei's time then yelled and struck Yan Mei's stomach then time resumed and they both crashed to the ground.
The smoke cleared and Liao slowly stood up, taking a lot of recoil damage. She coughed and Yan Mei also stood up slowly, taking a lot of damage from the Phoenix Dive.
"Both women are still up! Neither one are backing down from this fight! Who will come out on top?! Oh I'm on the edge of my seat ladies and gentlemen!" The announcer yelled.
Liao Ru and Yan Mei walked forward then began to run towards each other. They punched each other's cheek, but Liao was able to recover first then punched Yan Mei's stomach. Yan Mei groaned loudly and panted. She fell to her knees. Liao Ru panted and looked at Yan Mei. Yan Mei clenched her teeth then sweep kicked Liao's feet from under her and Liao grunted as she fell. Yan Mei mounted on top of Liao Ru then went for a punch at her face, but Liao caught her fist then grabbed her shoulder. She sat up and headbutted Yan Mei. Yan Mei grunted and Liao Ru stood up then jumped backwards.
"I don't get it...How did you get so powerful in ONE year..?! Those gauntlets as well..." Yan Mei asked then slowly stood up.
"Training... Constant training! My weapons are made from Ruler of Inferno! Divine Weapon of Gauntlets...I have the strength to become Ruler and I will become Ruler!" Liao Ru answered.
Yan Mei smirked. "Ruler...alright...we will put that to the test!" Yan Mei bellowed and her aura surged powerfully.
Liao Ru grunted and held her arm. Her arms took the most damage from her Phoenix Dive, but she didn't quit just yet. She concentrated all of her flaming energy around her body. She ran to Yan Mei and bellowed, leaving behind a trail of fire. She yelled then jumped in the air.
"Mystic Typhoon!" Yan Mei bellowed and a massive water tornado was summoned around her body.
"Wait she's gonna use Phoenix Dive again?! That could break her arms!" Yumeji yelled.
"Liao Ru! Don't do it! Your arms!" Kikyo yelled.
Liao flew further in the air then her flames turned black. "Black Phoenix Crash!" Liao Ru bellowed and dove in the middle of the typhoon.
Yan Mei looked up surprised, noticing Liao Ru diving into the typhoon. Liao Ru yelled then crashed into Yan Mei and a massive explosion happened. Smoke filled the entire area and the crowd was left in suspension. The smoke cleared and both women were on the ground. Liao turned back to normal and her Divine Weapon vanished from her hands. Yan Mei's aura disappeared and she went back to her normal form.
"It now comes to who can stand up first people!" The announcer yelled.
Both women moved and Liao Ru, due to sheer willpower, began to stand up and she grunted softly. She stood up and couldn't move her arms as they were broken.
"Liao Ru wins by technicality! One point goes to St. Fraskia Academy! The score is Three to One! St. Fraskia wins this year's School Battle!" The referee said.
The crowd went wild, but some of them were disappointed. Yumeji, Kikyo, and Misao ran down to Liao Ru and cheered happily. Orishi smiled then looked across the stadium then noticed Himeko looking at her. Himeko smirked then closed her eyes then stood up and left.
"Yes! Liao Ru won!" I said happily.
"This is a very joyous occasion." Saito nodded.
Our reward was we were able to move on to the next academy, but there was something about the academy.
"The next academy we have to face is named Grand Weshina Academy. It's an academy that has Judgement Members there." I said. "This is actually not too good of news."
Saito looked at me and noticed how nervous I looked. "There is a chance that Kioshi and Yumi could be there.."
"Or even worse.." I sighed then looked at the ceiling of the battleship. "I'm not going to be ready for this.."
"It's okay, we are here for you. You're never alone." Saito smiled at me.
I looked at Saito then laid my head on her shoulder, smiling. "Thanks..."
