Nagini had fallen asleep at her desk and I walked over to her and smiled then looked at her monitor. She had written down reports of the day in her notes. I read what was on the screen.
Day 1 of being Reborn: I found the Ruler of Raijin and the Overlord of Thunder. The Gem of Fulgur must've found her way into her. She's one of the best lab rats I've had in ages. She's far more patient and intelligent than the other assistants I've had in the past. I like her a lot and she makes experimenting more fun. In return...I will help her see the unlimited potential within her. She will use her power in more ways than she could ever know.
After reading the report I smiled and looked at Nagini. I didn't know if I should wake her or leave her be. I decided to leave her be and use my jacket as a blanket to wrap around her shoulder. I left the lab and went home for the night.
The next day arrived and I woke up early in the morning. I felt Saito's arms wrapped around my waist as she spooned me. I smiled and held her hand. Saito had woken up a bit after I touched her hand. She buried her face into my back.
"Good morning..~" I smiled.
"Good morning..." Saito yawned then sighed softly.
She let go of me and I sat up then stretched. I got out of bed to get ready for the day Nagini prepared for us. I took a shower and brushed my teeth then washed my face. After getting situated, I walked out of the bathroom and looked at Saito who was still in bed.
"You're not gonna watch the exams?" I asked.
"Nope...I am just gonna relax the entire day. I earned it." Saito said then rolled on her side. "Have fun with Dr. Noxius."
I smiled and left to go meet Nagini in her lab. I noticed Yumeji and Kikyo walking together to the academy building. We waved at each other and I decided to walk with them since I was headed that way as well.
"So how do you think you're gonna do today, Miss Uber Smarts?" I smiled as I teased Yumeji.
"Everyone knows I am the Uberest of Valkyrias in the academy plus I'll blow all the others out the water! Today I'm going 500%!" Yumeji smiled.
"You said that last time." Kikyo smiled and crossed her arms.
"But today is gonna be true! I'll show everyone just what I'm really made of! This morning, I heard I may be going up against Yae in and I'll prove to you that I'm going all out!" Yumeji smiled.
"I'll be cheering for you." I chuckled softly.
We waved at each other then parted ways. I walked into the lab area and noticed Nagini laying in the couch with one leg crossed over the other, with a lollipop in her mouth, and playing with bubble wrap. I looked at her and rose an eyebrow.
"Doctor." I called out to her.
Nagini looked at me and smiled then sat up. She stopped crushing the bubble wrap and set it along the arm of the couch. "Good morning, Lab Rat."
"Bubble wrap?" I asked and crossed my arms.
"What? It really helps calm me down and it's satisfying. You should try it. Come sit down next to me." She said then watched me walk forward to sit down next to her.
I was handed the bubble wrap and took it out of her hands. I looked at the bubble wrap and back at Nagini. "It's not a trap is it? Everything you do I'm expecting it to be some form of experiment."
"It's not a trap. Just try it." Nagini said and smiled at me.
I looked at the bubble wrap and popped a few of the bubbles. The bubble wrap immediately activated a few of my memories of my childhood. I would always play with bubble wrap because I loved the sound of it, but it was also the main source of sadness for me. As I popped the bubbles I closed my eyes and just listened to the sound.
"I sense your troubled past. I know everything that's happened to you because I did research on you while I was at St. Fraskia. The things they do to child...for what purpose? They barely gained anything from it. They got nothing from those experiments.." Nagini said.
I opened my eyes and looked at Nagini. "What all do you know from my past..?"
"Your father and step mother aren't worth shit. Judgement purposely targeted you because of Yusa. You were made to suffer endless tests and they even committed actual crimes against you. In this era law enforcement doesn't exist it seems. Although you are my lab rat, I won't treat you as if you're less than human. Dr. Ashikaga didn't treat me like an object so I won't treat you like an object." Nagini smiled and stood up.
I looked at her then set the bubble wrap down. "Nagini...can you tell me what Judgement Order is planning?"
Nagini walked to her desk and began to type on the computer. "They are planning something heinous. Something that would change the fate of humanity forever. Allow me to give you a brief history of the Old World so what they are planning makes more sense."
I looked at her and noticed her writing notes down.
"The Old World had a foe known as the Fallen Overlord aka the First Ruler. The Fallen Overlord created a species known as the Fallen. It was full of zombies, monsters, fallen heroes, and the damned. The Fallen Overlord is the soul reason why the Overlords exist. They will corrupt Rulers and make them have Dark Divinity. Her desire to be Almighty corrupted her. I watched it before my eyes how corruption can lead to something disastrous as the First Fallen War between Humans and Demigods. Humanity was nearly gone until the Rulers of Humanity, Virtues, and Life had stopped her onslaught..but in the process the three Rulers sacrificed their life to kill the Fallen Overlord." Nagini said.
"It took three Rulers to kill the Fallen Overlord and even then they died...so what happened? If the Fallen Overlord is dead, why are there still Fell Energy around?" I asked.
"The Original Overlord and the Umbra Overlord. The Original Overlord also known as the First Corrupted and the Umbra Overlord known as the Queen of Devils are the reason Fell Energy still exists. They may be dead but their seeds still exist in the New Era." Nagini answered.
"So what is Judgement Order planning exactly?" I asked.
"They plan to revive the Five Overlords and make more Overlords. The four Overlords that they are working on reviving are the Fallen Overlord, the Umbra Overlord, The Original Overlord, and the Overlord of Sins. The Overlord of Thunder resides inside of you...She may be an Overlord, but she obviously senses imminent danger Judgement Order is trying to cause which is why she hasn't corrupted your mind too much." Nagini answered.
"Wait what..? I mean I knew they were powerful enough to revive them hint Aermyth who used to be the Overlord of Deceit..but I never knew their actual goal is to revive the actual villains of the universe! Why do they need me then?" I asked.
"Simple. The Overlord of Thunder's Core is inside of you. Her core is enough to assure a certain victory for them. Not only is the Overlord of Thunder a direct ally of the Original Overlord, but she's also known as the old Ruler of the Skies. She controls the weather much like a Tengu and Daitengu can, but to a more powerful degree." Nagini said then stood up and began to write a formula on the white board.
I watched her and tilted my head. I stood up to walk to the board and stand beside her. "Is there a way we can prevent this?" I asked.
"Using Time Manipulation, I can see into the future and I can for certain tell you that there is one thing you can do to stop this process from happening. Silent Fox has already completed the first process and now she's sent her team out to hunt for the Overlord's Cores. The way you can stop it is by seeking out the cores and destroying them. There is a core in Siberia, one in New Zealand, one in Egypt, and one in Paris. Of course the last core is inside of your body." Nagini answered then stopped writing.
I looked at her and back at the board.
"Those cores needs to be destroyed immediately. If they aren't destroyed, humanity as we know it will be destroyed like it was in the Old World. We are only repeating history...A history that should've been long done with. There is also something I want you to see as well, Lab Rat." Nagini said then walked to her computer.
I walked with her and looked at the monitor.
"These are the locations of the Gems of Humanity, Anima, and Value. The Gem of Humanity is also in Siberia, the Gem of Anima is in the United States, and the Gem of Value is in Australia. These Gems are important if you fail to destroy the Overlord Cores. I can use those Gems to revive the Rulers. Do you think you can do that for me?" Nagini asked.
"I could...but that seems like a pretty hefty task for one person even if I am a Demigod. I still have zero clue what all I can do with my powers." I said.
"I never said you had to do it alone." Nagini said then pressed a button and the machine door opened, revealing a person inside of the capsule. "Meet the artificial being based off a historic figure of the Old World. Meet Amelia Tesla. She will help you with everything you need, but for you reaching your max potential. I shall train you in my Realm for a few days. A day in my Realm equates to 12 hours in this dimension. Are you up for it?"
"You know I am. I'm ready to finally settle this once and for all. I'm ready to avenge everyone who suffered by Judgement Order's hands especially Orishi." I said.
Nagini smirked and her eyes shined. "Good.."
