Yusa grunted as she slid backwards. She looked up and her eyes shined then she noticed a flurry of slashes and looked surprised then noticed me appearing behind Anima with my back facing her. Anima groaned and stumbled a bit.
I rose my hand in the air then snapped my fingers and Aermyth roared then appeared from a portal then landed on the ground. I lowered my hand and turned around then pointed at Anima.
Aermyth roared and charged a beam then released it at Anima then blew her away into a rock wall.
"Hisumi?" Yusa said then walked to me. She smiled uncontrollably then hugged me tightly.
I blushed and looked at her then closed my eyes. "I missed you too, Mom, but we have bigger matters on our hands."
Yusa noticed a burst of light in front of us then let me go. "Right, but you should know that only I can land the final blow."
I nodded then closed my eyes and used my lightning to construct Fulgur's True Divine Weapon, The Key of the Skies. The scabbard was black with gold accents and had a lightning design on it. I unsheathed the katana and the blade was pure gold and the hilt and handle was black.
"The Key of the Skies.." Yusa said a bit surprised and looked at me.
I looked at the katana then looked at Anima. "Let's get started."
Yusa nodded then we dashed to Anima and she dashed to us as well. Yusa and Anima clashed then Yusa pushed Anima backwards then I appeared in front of Yusa then created multiple speed clones then my clones slashed at her one by one then I kicked her away. My eyes shined and the Eyes of Raijin formed in my eyes. I glared then opened five portals then sent bolts of lightning flying at Anima.
Anima dodged the bolts of lightning then dashed to me. She went for a strike, but Yusa blasted her away with a beam of death. Anima grunted as she rolled on her side then rebounded off the ground and landed on her feet. Anima bellowed and her wings of life emerged from her back.
"She's a lot stronger than before now." Saito said.
Yusa emitted a field of black aura around her body. Yusa looked at me. "Buy me some time!"
I nodded then dashed to Anima. She looked at me and snapped her fingers and manipulated my life force. I grunted and stumbled, but kept going. Anima looked a bit amazed then summoned multiple spears of light around me. I deflected the spears of light then jumped into the air and Aermyth swooped down then caught me on her back. She flew up high in the air. I jumped off her back and created thunderclouds in the sky. I flew down towards Anima and bellowed as lightning struck my body and I cloaked myself in divine lightning.
"What is she doing?" Yumi asked.
"This attack is different from the one she used at St. Fraskia.." Tengu said.
My lightning shined multiple colors and my eyes emitted powerful aura. "Heavenly Iris Starfall!"
Anima unleashed a massive beam of life force energy at me, but my attack cut straight through the attack. I yelled and my voice cracked then I struck Anima then a massive explosion was the aftermath. Saito, Yumi, and Tengu grunted as they covered their eyes. I rolled forward and turned around then slid backwards. The smoke cleared and Anima was left with a bad paralysis. She grunted as she could barely move.
"That's good enough." Yusa smiled then condensed the field of black aura around her body into a tiny ball of black energy. She let the ball of black energy float to Anima. "Final Miasma."
Once the ball of black energy made contact on Anima's body she screamed then began to slowly fade away into magic particles. Her soul was defeated and the Gem of Anima floated into the air then floated into Yusa's hands.
I stood up and closed my eyes and used telepathy to talk to Nagini. 'We got the Gem of Anima..'
"Holy shit..! You're alive! Thank the Heavens...I wouldn't know what to do if I lost my favorite lab rat, but anyway I am glad you got the Gem. I'll open a portal so you can return to my dimension." Nagini responded via telepathy.
I opened my eyes and felt powerful energy nearby. 'I think that's gonna wait. I sense powerful energy nearby and it doesn't feel like a friendly enemy.'
"What do you mean?" Nagini asked.
The being landed on the ground and we looked at the being. It was a woman with white skin, white hair, and shining blue eyes. She wore a white dress, blue armored boots, and had three black orbs floating around her that transformed into tiny monsters with blue eyes and a creepy smile.
'My guess...' I looked at the sky. 'Is that we could be repeating history all over again. Whatever is happening...is bad because we have a Monster to deal with.'
"Monster? What does it look like?" Nagini asked.
I looked at the monster and told Nagini her description.
"Hisumi...hurry and get the fuck out of there. That is the Abyssal Black Monster! If those creatures touch you once, it will drain you of your life force and give it to her. Fallan has reopened the Gates between the Monster Realm and the Human Realm. I was hoping we would be done with Monster for good, but Fallan has other plans other than destroying our universe." Nagini said, panicked.
'But we can't leave her here! Based off what you said, she's too dangerous to be left alive!' I said then got in my battle stance. 'I'll strike her down right now.'
"Wait-"
I dashed to the Abyssal Black Monster then slashed at her but my attack barely did any damage to her. I looked surprised then dodged the attacks of the tiny monsters then pointed my sword at the woman and her creatures. Aermyth roared and released a powerful beam at them. The beam made contact then an explosion happened. I lowered my hand then looked surprised. She used one of her creatures as a shield and it survived the attack.
"I'll handle this!" Yusa rushed forward and the three creatures flew towards Yusa then latched onto her.
The monster looked surprised when her monsters had no effect on her. Yusa bellowed then thrusted her lance at her, impaling her and she coughed a bit of blood then Yusa spun in a circle then flung the monster into a rock wall. Yusa glared at the monster and smirked.
"It's been a while Rimuri. I never thought to see you here and not your Original. I guess I should call you I-Rimuri since you are her inverse." Yusa said.
I-Rimuri stood up and looked at the hole in her body then looked at Yusa. "Why aren't my monsters taking effect on you?"
"I am the Ruler of Death. I am the Embodiment of Death and everything that comes with it. You can't kill me, not unless you have the power of Life." Yusa said then got I-Rimuru's creatures off her.
I-Rimuri looked at Yusa then glared. She retreated then flew off, knowing while Yusa was there she couldn't win.
Yusa got a call from Naora via her communicator. She answered and a holographic screen appeared in front of her. "Naora, thank goodness you're alive. What's the matter?"
"Monsters....They are back. They aren't Apeiron's but the inverses. Himeko and Namiyo was struck down by Karasu's inverse. We need your help..!" Naora said.
"Are they still alive?" Yusa asked.
"Yeah...Luckily Florence was around and she helped scare off Karasu's inverse. We are in Yahoma right now. Please hurry back. We don't know that's happening or why, but we need this to end..." Naora said.
"Don't worry. We will try to be there when we can.." Yusa said then hung up. She looked at us and nodded.
'Nagini, you can open the portal.' I said to Nagini via telepathy.
"Hisumi..! Please don't scare me like that again! I'll open the portal." Nagini said then opened a portal.
We saw the portal then rushed inside. I looked at everyone.
"What's going on? Why were we in the Grand Canyon? Was Silent Fox successful in reviving the Overlords?" I asked.
"Yeah...She succeeded. We are now fighting the true villains. After all this was Silent Fox's plan since the beginning. In a sense...Silent Fox won." Yusa said.
"When you weren't waking up, it felt like the end of the universe as we knew it, but you woke up. I'm so glad you woke up.." Saito said and tears formed in her eyes. She hugged me tightly and I looked at her then smiled.
I rubbed her hair and looked at Yumi and Tengu. Tengu smiled and nodded at me then I nodded back. Saito let me go then wiped her eyes.
"Everyone I need to tell you something important." I said. "It regards to how we can win this war."
"How can we win? We are already struggling against Weakened Overlords." Yusa crossed her arms.
"It's called the Key of Totality. That is how we can win this war. That is the only way we can win. When we reunite, we can asked Misao and Liao Ru where it was used last so we can get a good starting point on where to look." I said.
"About that.." Saito started. "Misao's gone. She's gone back to the Sakura District. She's being corrupted at an alarming rate...We have to seal her to save her, but I don't have the courage to harm someone I've known for years.."
I looked at Saito then remembered what Misao told me a while back. I looked down then closed my eyes. "I'll do it then. I'll seal Misao."
"Hisumi you can't, it's too dangerous! The Original Overlord is pursuing her." Saito said then grabbed my hand.
"It's fine...I'll do it. I understand what she's going through and I know of her past...she will fall into the same fate as her sisters and I don't want that. I'll save her by sealing her away." I said.
"Sealing her away would mean you'd be killing her. Are you up for that responsibility?" Yusa asked.
"I've killed more people than I can count on both hands, but I know this is a heavier burden since I'll be killing a friend..." I said and opened my eyes.
Yusa looked at me then nodded. She opened a void and looked at me. "Then go, seal Misao away and save her."
I looked at Yusa then hurried to her and hugged her. She smiled and kissed the top of my head then I let her go and hurried into the void to go into the Sakura District.
