"So hot..." I whined softly as I walked underneath Misua. "Are we there yet?"
"Almost. Ra-to doesn't live where there are civilization, just like the Egyptian Reincarnates. Ra-to has her very own Pyramid which is also a temple. In today's time, you won't find many of these pyramids unless you venture out as far as we are." Liao Ru said.
"Can we take a break..? We've been walking around for an hour now and my throat is dry as hell. I feel like I'll be coughing up dust in a second.." I sighed.
Liao Ru stopped and smiled then looked at me. "I guess this is a good place to stop."
Nagini summoned her platform and sat down on it. She looked at me and crossed one leg over the other. "If we still had Misao, we would have nearly half of our Council. I'm sure there are more of us alive. I'm sure of it."
"There are fourteen of you right?" I asked.
"Mhm. Right now the only ones who are known are Qiao Zhi, Ataraxia, Liao Ru, Viktoria Kästner, Miko Misao, and me. You obviously take Qiao Zhi's spot." Nagini nodded.
"That's six...well five now. Who are the other eight members?" I asked as I sat down underneath Misua.
"Number II, Olympia. Number VII, Shi. Number VIII, Agni. Number IX, Borsu. Number XI, Mona. Number XII, Artemis. Number XIII, Pryniau. Finally...Number XIV, Raiden Oda. Raiden Oda is one of the most mysterious members because she's a New Era member, meaning she's still out there somewhere. She shares the same blood as the great Nobunaga Oda because she's a descendant of him." Nagini answered.
"Have you all met anyone from the Sengoku Period of Japan?" I asked.
"Misao should've. I know I haven't met anyone of that era personally because I wasn't in Japan at that point of time. Our big war started in the 1600s." Nagini answered.
"I see." I stretched then looked at the sand I was sitting on. "Can you tell me a little about some of the members of the Infinity Council?"
"Sure. I'll tell you about Olympia. She's essentially one of the most important members of the Infinity Council and my enemy. Olympia is a very elegant, cheerful, sweet lady who basically enjoys almost everything. She enjoys interacting with everyone and is very good at putting up a show." Nagini said.
"You're overreacting, Noxius." Liao Ru smiled and looked at Nagini. "We all know you loved her as much as we did."
"Pfft! Puh-lease! She's a traitor like Qiao Zhi." Nagini said.
"It was only that one time she betrayed us, but it worked out for us in the end. She got us the information we needed and even joined back afterwards." Liao Ru said. "Let me tell you about Olympia since Nagini wants to overexaggerate things."
"The floor's yours." I smiled.
"Olympia got along with everyone, her friendly presence made it easy to work with her. She rarely talks badly about anyone and when she does she makes sure to never hurt your feelings when saying it. She jokes occasionally even in serious moments." Liao Ru explained.
"Those are all pros of her character, but her cons are important too. She's been a mystery to us for a while. She's always kept a mysterious distance and keeps quite a few secrets to herself. One of those secrets was her knowledge about how to perfectly traverse the Infinity Realm. She lied to us saying she doesn't know how to traverse it and she can even traverse my Realm perfectly without getting a headache." Ataraxia said.
"Ataraxia's Realm also known as the Serenity Dimension gives you a headache if you stay for too long, but Olympia just knows how to bypass that enough to be able to fight Ataraxia. Granted, Olympia still lost that fight, but that alone should tell you how truly dangerous Olympia is." Nagini said.
I nodded and I looked at Liao Ru then something clicked in my brain. "Oh yeah, Liao. Misao wanted me to tell you something. After I defeated her in battle, she wanted me to tell you that she loves you a lot. I'm sure if Misao was here she would've had a lot to add in the conversation."
Liao Ru smiled at me then closed her eyes. "I always knew she loved me, and I loved her as well. It is a shame it took her 440 something years and a fight to the death to actually say it."
"It seems we have rested long enough, let's continue forward and make it to Ra-to before noon." Nagini said.
We all got up and began to make our way to Ra-to. I was thinking about what they said about Olympia and wanted to really meet her.
We traversed through a random sandstorm then ended up in an Egyptian village where we noticed a large pyramid. I looked around and noticed the people in this area looked different from the Egyptians we met in Cairo. They were more traditional, seemed more ancient...more beautiful. Even the guys here were incredibly hot.
"This is the City of Beszu, home of the Ruler of Abjuration: Ra-to." Liao Ru said.
Liao Ru walked forward towards the Pyramid and we followed her. We walked into the Pyramid and I looked around in awe.
"Seems like we got company." Liao Ru said then summoned her sword.
I looked ahead and noticed new Fallen enemies that I haven't seen before. There were three rotund Fallen enemies. Their eyes shined yellow and they were jolly enemies. They wore silver armor and were unarmed.
"Hm...They won't seem too bothered by us like most Fallen." I said.
"Yeah, these Fallen aren't the most aggressive ones, but it's still good to stay on your guard. These Fallen are called Rotund Fallen. They block all frontal attacks, the only way to beat then is by striking their core which is behind them." Nagini said.
I nodded and unsheathed my katanas then got in my battle stance. I dashed towards the Rotund Fallen and vanished then appeared behind one of them. I sliced their core and they let out a ghoulish pained yell. The Fallen turned around and went for a punch. I blocked it with my katanas, but was sent crashing into a wall. I grunted and landed on my feet.
"The Fallen are stronger and more durable than normal..!" I said.
"Yeah...It would seem they grow stronger as Fallan grows stronger." Liao Ru said.
I glared at the Fallen then used a burst of speed to appear behind one of them then slid backwards and a barrage of hidden slashes struck their core. The Fallen let out a pained yell then dispersed into energy particles.
We dealt with the Rotund Fallen but more Fallen were summoned and Nagini caught onto what was going on.
"There is a Summoner here. Those bastards are annoying." Nagini said.
"Summoner?" I asked.
"A Summoner is a special type of Fallen that will constantly summon Fallen of the same rank as them. The wave of Fallen will be endless unless we take them down." Ataraxia explained.
I nodded and looked around then noticed a humanoid female Fallen who's skin was pitch black and her eyes shined yellow. She wielded a staff and wore a Mage outfit. I knew she was the summoner and dashed towards her. She summoned Fallen to stop me, but I teleported to her then my eyes shined brightly. I slashed in a circle and sliced her head off her body. She fell to the ground and dispersed into energy particles. The other Fallen dispersed into energy particles.
I sheathed my katanas then turned around to the others. "Target eliminated."
They smiled at me and we began to traverse to the top floor of the Pyramid to see Ra-to. Along the way we fought off more Fallen and even saved a few of the Egyptians who were captured by the Fallen. We hurried forward until we made it to the top floor.
I looked at the woman sitting on a golden throne. She wore golden Ancient Egyptian Royal clothing. She had a cute floating sphinx floating beside her. Her skin was a perfect tan, her lips were glossy and her eyes shined a deadly amber color. She had long black hair that stopped at her lower back. She held a staff in her hand and looked at us.
"Ra-to. We have come to see you." Liao Ru said then walked forward.
"So I see. What do you need? It's been over 300 years since we last spoke. Let's catch up with one another." Ra-to smiled.
We all decided to agree to her and walked forward, sitting with her. Nagini, Ataraxia, and Liao Ru began to talk to Ra-to and began to catch up with one another. I felt like the odd one out.
"So that's what's going on. Japan doesn't sound like it's in the most stable condition. This sounds a lot worse than the old history." Ra-to said and sighed.
"So can someone fill me in on who Ra-to truly is?" I asked.
Nagini looked at me then back at Ra-to. "As you know, she is the Ruler of Abjuration and the Guardian of the Egyptian Goddesses who are the reincarnation of the Old World Egyptian Deities. She's the most trustworthy ally we have here in Egypt, but we have one problem."
"That is?" I asked.
"The Core of Sins is locked away in a pyramid and we need the Egyptian Keys to unlock that pyramid. We're gonna be in Egypt for quite some time." Nagini said.
"In the meantime, I can give you my blessing." Ra-to said then pointed her staff at us.
We all had green aura around our bodies and Ra-to's Divine Symbol shined on our hands.
"The Blessing of Abjuration. With that blessing, you will remain absolutely healthy just as long as you're in Egypt since I can't move away from Egypt. I can also tell you this, to get the Egyptian Keys, you need to Quell the anger of the Goddesses. From what I remember, there are at least five keys you need, Anubis, Bastet, Ra, Isis, and Set I believe. There may be more keys needed, but then again I haven't been in that pyramid in over 300 years." Ra-to said.
"These Goddesses are known as the Uprising Goddesses, they aren't going to be easy to defeat. Just to help Ra-to out, there are Twelve Keys we need. The First Generation of Uprising Goddesses include Anubis, Bastet, Sobek, Sphinx, Ra, and Horus. The Second Generation of Uprising Goddesses include Osiris, Thoth, Ptah, Ma'at, Set, and Isis." Nagini answered.
"Yep, we are going to be here for a while." I said then stretched.
"Well, let's get going before Siroz comes and seeks out her core." Nagini said.
I nodded and stood up then the four of us including Misua left the room to go pursue the Uprising Goddesses.
