Chapter 7 - She can buy everything in this mall

The demanding lady looked Sienna over with so much disdain it was as if she was looking at dog poop on her shoe.

"Who are you?" She sneered.

Sienna considered her options. If she were to say she was Sienna Astor, no one would even care if she reserved the whole shop even. But if she were to pull out her trump card…

"Damon Wright's wife," She announced. At the side, the shop girl's eyes widened even further.

"Pfft, yeah right," The woman glanced at Sienna, before noticing Sienna's simple clothing, "I heard that the heir to Wright Enterprises got married but how can it be someone like you?"

Sienna didn't get angry. After all, she had spent three years of marriage listening to people say she was a bad match and an unsuitable wife. This was nothing!

Instead, she took off her glasses and raised an eyebrow, "Someone like me?"

The woman took a step closer to Sienna and up close, her strong perfume nearly suffocated her. Sienna resisted the urge to wrinkle her nose.

"You're not even wearing anything very expensive and you want me to believe you're married to Damon Wright? And that you reserved that item?" She scoffed, turning her nose up in the air, "I bet you can't even afford it!"

It was probably true, Sienna was trying hard to spend only from her savings for this present, but she was determined to bluff her way through this! Just as she opened her mouth to say something, a deep voice rang out.

"She can afford everything in this store, no, in this entire mall, if she wants it."

Everyone turned to the store's entrance in shock. In the doorway stood Damon Wright, looking extremely dashing in a fitted suit and a serious expression.

The woman had failed to recognise Sienna but there was no way she couldn't recognise Damon Wright and she hustled up to his side, hoping to get close to him.

Then she frowned, "You mean…"

"Should I repeat myself?" His glare was so cold that the woman felt her blood freeze in her veins. It meant that she had been rude to the actual wife of Damon Wright!

Without even looking at the other woman, Damon crossed over to where Sienna stood and took out his wallet. From there, he passed her his black card. Everyone's eyes, which were already huge, grew even bigger.

"I'm sorry, I should have passed this to you earlier," He murmured and everyone received yet another shock. Who was this woman that the great Damon Wright actually apologised to and spoke so tenderly with?

"It's yours," He made sure she was holding it before patting her softly on the head, "Buy whatever you like, there's no limit."

If everyone was shaken, Sienna was the most shaken. She had been prepared to use her own money and remain financially independent, but Damon had essentially told her to spend as much of his money as she wanted!

What's more, he had never spoken to her so gently before. For a moment, she thought she was dreaming.

Damon strode to the entrance before directing his gaze at the shop assistant who shrank back a little before summoning her professionalism and giving him a small bow. To him, the woman who had insulted his wife was not even worth his time.

"Tell that uncouth woman that if she wants to buy anything, she will need to go to a different mall, because the owner of this mall does not welcome her here," He stated sternly. At her nod, he turned to look at Sienna and his entire demeanour softened, "I have work to do, I'll see you at home."

All Sienna could manage to do was nod.

Meanwhile, the shop assistant didn't even need to relay Damon's message, everyone in the store had heard it loud and clear including the intended target who had nearly fainted.

How was she going to explain to her parents that she had offended the great Damon Wright and his wife?

Other people in the store who had been watching the drama unfold began to whisper.

"What a rude girl, not only was she impolite to the service staff, she even dared to insult Mrs Wright!"

"If I were her, I'd go abroad and change my name, no one will do business with her now that she's gotten on Damon Wright's bad side."

"I thought the woman who married Damon Wright would be stuck up, but she seems quite down-to-earth!"

The poor shop girl was trembling as she approached Sienna but she steeled herself to say, "Mrs Wright, I'm very sorry but the piece you both were looking at has actually been reserved by someone else."

Sienna couldn't help but be impressed by this girl's courage. Even after knowing who she was, she still tried to do what was right by her clients and not be swayed by power and money.

"What's your name?" She asked, trying not to scare her. Unfortunately, the girl thought she wanted her name so that she could complain to her manager and get her fired. Still, she held on to her courage and spoke in a wavering voice.

"Miho Slater, ma'am," Miho whispered.

"Miho, you did the right thing," Sienna praised. She couldn't help but see some parts of herself in this young girl, "I know I didn't reserve that item. I just said it to make that horrible woman leave you alone."

The relief was so apparent on Miho's face that Sienna wanted to laugh.

"Actually, I was looking at these earrings over there," Sienna pointed at the pair she had been looking at, "Would you mind assisting me with them?"

The other shop assistants watched in envy as Miho got to attend to Mrs Wright!

When Sienna finally left with a bag in hand, Miho sagged in relief. What a day! Then she whipped out her phone and began texting her brother, telling him about the nice lady who saved her today.

That night, Damon got home late after finishing up work at the office. The house was dark and the servants had mostly retired by the time he got back. However, his housekeeper, Wendy, was still awake to take his jacket and even offered to make him supper.

He declined and was heading to his room when he caught sight of a pretty bag with a ribbon tied at the top sitting on the coffee table.

"What's that?" He asked Wendy, even though he already could guess the answer.

"Madam brought it home this afternoon," Wendy said approvingly, "She said it was for your grandmother's birthday gift."

Damon smiled slightly. He never knew what to get his grandmother, but it seemed like his wife was very capable. He had been simply focused on clearing work so that he was free to attend his grandmother's birthday party and had completely forgotten about a gift.

Instead of heading to his room, he dismissed Wendy for the night and headed to Sienna's room.

The pale moonlight spilled across Sienna's sleeping figure, making her smooth skin look as if it was glowing. She murmured something and turned over in her sleep.

Damon entered the room slowly and looked down at this woman. She had looked so fierce on their wedding night and today as well. But now, she looked so fragile, it made his heart ache a little.

Gently, he pressed his lips to her forehead, lingering for a moment before he left, closing the door quietly behind him.

In her sleep, Sienna's lips tilted up in a small smile.
