Chapter 250: An impossible decision.
Owen's POV
I walked down the hallway that led to Waylen's hospital room very much grossed in thoughts. The cellphone in my hand weighed heavily on me like it was made of something other than the materials cellphone company used to make them, I don't know I barely finished high school.
Luna Elise's demand was clear enough – a public announcement for the safe return of my daughter. It didn't seem like a big deal but why does it feel like the weight of the world was on my shoulder, weighing me down and keeping me from getting back up.
I took a deep breath to steady my thoughts and after a few more seconds to myself, I opened the door. Emily sat by Waylen's bedside holding his hands while he stared at the wall in front of him. Neither talked to each other and the air was laced with too many feelings than I care to count.
