Chapter 55: Miracle in a blanket

After we hugged, Papa didn't say a word. At that moment, it was just me and him against the world, and it was like that for a very long time.
Life moved on in the Sanders house but not for me. I had the same dream every night and everywhere I turned to was blood - the blood of the baby my fake mama lost.
Papa and mama kept trying to have a son. I, on the other hand, kept eavesdropping on Papa's sacred meetings with the Alpha and eventually, Bella the goat had a kid and it was the end of my bizarre dream about the dead baby my mother miscarried.
I might not remember much before I became Emily's mom but I remember that babies were miracles, and one doesn't throw away miracles.
I am currently sitting on a sofa in a king's palace and I wish Emily was here with me so I could teach her a few things.
