chapter 6: Emily has a panic attack.

"Emily, why are you not talking? Don't you have anything to say for yourself?"

I vaguely remember Eloise saying those words to me.

I was more occupied with the fact that my heart skipped a beat.

Pregnant?

Preg…nant…a word translating to my life was screwed.

"No…no…no" I tried to wish it away.

I can't be pregnant. I only slept with Owen once. How can I be the most fertile girl on planet earth? It didn't make any sense.

Pregn…I couldn't even finish the word now.

Something was happening to me. I could feel it. It was like a bag of nasty bugs were released on me and they were running in every direction.

Oh fuck!

Suddenly my mouth was dry and my stomach was in a knot like the impossible ones Alpha Noah always makes us tie in werewolf school.

It felt like I was dying.

I can't be dying right? I was seventeen, recently rejected by a mate and forced into an arranged marriage, and…and pregnant. I couldn't be dying too, I mean my bad luck has to run out at some point.

I felt nauseous and sick. God lord! Don't let me puke in a palace! I can't be known as Emily, the Palace puker.

I let out a breath from my mouth in a desperate attempt to stop the nausea from becoming unbearable.

"You are seventeen years old, Emily! What business do you have in sleeping with the Alpha's son, who just rejected your ass"

My mother was standing so close to me. I could smell her ànger and her disappointment.

I feared she could hear my pounding heart.

I can't be pregnant. I can't be with Owen's cub. How cruel would that be to carry around a constant reminder of the boy that destroyed me?

I pushed back my midnight black hair to stop it from touching my forehead. I needed a plan, a solution to my problem and It was difficult to come up with a plan when my hair was constantly entering my eyes and distracting me.

My head pounded with tension like someone was intentionally using a hammer to hit a nail into my forehead. I clutched my head in an effort to stop the sudden loud sound.

"I...I need to…to…hmm…I need to get rid of it, Mama. Get it out of me, please"

My voice was thick and unsteady. And sweat made circles under my armpits.

A cold spider-like limb raced up and down my spine.

"Get it out of me, now!" I clutched my stomach.

"Emily, are you insane? We are not going to murder my grandbaby. The moon goddess will curse us till eternity if we do!" Eloise's raised voice made me look at her.

I knew that a thousand questions prowled through her mind as she stood there.

And I knew she saw when my face turned crimson red.

"No! No! I can't keep it…no, you can't make me…" I repeated it over and over again.

"We are rogues, Emily. The last thing we need is for the moon goddess to turn her back on her"

"Shut up! Don't you think she already did that to me. Mama, the moon goddess turned her back on me first. First, she gave me no wolf and then, she gave me a mate I actually love and then she took it away. I have had enough! Get it out of me!"

"No. I won't. And good luck getting an abortion in Castaway" Eloise was insistent.

"It's Owen's baby, god damnit!" I yelled at her.

"It's yours too, Emily Sanders. We, Sanders, we are not murderers"

I took a step back. This can't be happening. There was no way this was happening to me.

"I c-can not…I can't…"

Ominous thoughts squirmed at the back of my mind.

My lips grew thin and firm.

"If you won't help me then I will help myself…I will help myself…I will help myself…I am Emily Sanders Williamson, I am Princess Supreme! I am going to help myself"

Eloise shook his head and moved closer to me.

"We have to leave here before Zuri comes back. We obviously can't stay here. Come on!"

My mother grabbed my hand and like a robot on autocontrol, I followed mindlessly.

We almost made it to the gate when we were stopped.

I was focused on my shock and I let my mother do all the talking.

"What do you want, soldier?"

"On the orders of his majesty, King Zuri, the princess Supreme is not allowed to leave the palace" the soldier answered.

That got my attention.

"Wait what?" I blinked in surprise.

My mother must have seen it because she quickly guided me to a secluded area.

I started hyperventilating. I was over the razor's edge of panic. I still gasped for air but couldn't get enough.
