Chapter 25 - Arthur The Gentleman

"What's going on?"

"Arthur ...," Kalea whispered. She walked quickly to the man.

"I've been looking for you and you're here," Arthur said as he gently caressed Kalea's cheek. Then he turned to look at Reynhard. He narrowed his eyes, memorizing the man's face. "You ... aren't you the son of Edward Smith? What are you doing here?" asked Arthur, his voice seemingly calm but Reynhard looked down in fear upon Arthur's arrival.

Arthur's forehead wrinkled, he didn't know the chronology but Reynhard was caught cornering and yelling at Kalea, his sugar baby.

"Reynhard? You're Reynhard, aren't you?" Arthur asked for confirmation since the man hadn't answered.

"Y-yes, I'm Reynhard. I'm sorry, I thought this woman was a caddy but she turned out to be your girlfriend," Reynhard laughed awkwardly as he scratched the back of his neck. Kalea itched to roll her eyes. Reynhard's excuse was far-fetched, but she could tell he was afraid of Arthur.

"So what if she's a caddie? Are you fascinated with her?" asked Arthur putting his arm around Kalea's shoulders and bringing her body closer to his. As if flaunting their affection in front of Reynhard.

"N-no, Sir. I'll take my leave then, my dad will be waiting."

"You're right, your father has been looking for you for a while," Arthur replied, smiling so sweetly that his eyes were just a thin line. After that, Reynhardt walked away out of fear and embarrassment.

Kalea breathed a sigh of relief, Arthur had once again helped her when a man almost harassed her. "Thank you."

"Lea," Arthur called.

"Hm?"

Kalea held her breath as Arthur brought his face within inches of hers. The man narrowed his eyes, looking Kalea up and down. "Have you always attracted the attention of mashers?" Arthur asked as he moved his face back to its original position. "What did you do to Reynhard to make him mad at you?"

"I-I just wanted to pick up the ball and accidentally meet into him He kept me away because he wanted to get to know me," Kalea replied a little annoyed that Arthur seemed to be laying all the blame on her.

"And then?"

"Because I ignored him, he suddenly got angry and kept belittling me. He even asked who my owner was and wanted to pay double," Kalea continued, turning her face to the side. Arthur's jaw hardened, a grin etched on the man's handsome face.

"Pay double? How cool is he," Arthur complimented sarcastically.

"Who exactly is he? Who is Smith?" asked Kalea, curious about Reynhard's earlier boast.

"The son of the owner of the company under my company," Arthur replied casually. He started walking again towards the venue as the caddie was still waiting there to take them to the main building when they finished playing. Kalea followed, trailing behind Arthur.

The man with gray eyesight turned around, and pulled Kalea's arm to walk parallel to him. Arthur's behavior was always unpredictable. If he put on a serious face and didn't say much, Arthur really seemed like a different man and Kalea didn't dare to resist.

They parted ways in the locker room, Kalea cleaning her body in the bathroom that had been provided. Arthur had also given her new clothes. Really, Arthur was always alert and knew what Kalea needed.

Kalea looked at the famous branded clothes, not too much, not too revealing and as if knowing Kalea would not protest with the clothes. "No wonder so many women are in love with him," Kalea murmured softly as she began to put on the clothes.

After that, she waited in the car because Arthur was still talking to important people who were in the same circle as him. Kalea did choose to get out of there because she felt that she had nothing to do with them. She watched the people passing by, their appearance was very classy even though it looked simple but Kalea knew. The price would not be as simple as it looked.

Gradually Kalea's eyes grew heavy, she was sleepy. Of course she was tired of spending time outside and trying something new in her life. Kalea had no regrets despite one distraction, Reynhard, the strange man. Her sleepiness disappeared when Arthur walked over and got into the car.

"Sorry for the long wait," Arthur said as he put down his cell phone.

"It's okay."

"So ... how was today? Are you happy?" asked Arthur cheerfully.

Kalea nodded as she returned his smile. "I'm happy."

Arthur chuckled amusedly, he ruffled Kalea's hair lightly. "Thankfully, if you're happy I'm happy too." He began to start his car out of the golfing area. No one made a sound, Arthur was busy whistling and humming along to the tune of the song playing while Kalea just listened and watched the road as not too many cars passed by. "Is there somewhere you want to go?" Arthur asked, making Kalea turn to him.

"Aren't you tired?"

"Tired? Why, are you tired?"

"Not really, anyway."

"Just tell me what you want and where you want to go, I'll accompany you," Arthur said, which somehow seemed sweet and caring to Kalea.

Although she was a little confused. Wasn't it her obdesk to accompany Arthur? Why was it like the other way around? Arthur was spoiling her so much.

Kalea shook her head, she had no idea where to go because her brain had never thought about such things. Ever since she was a little girl, her mindset had only been ingrained that she had to provide for her family. The money she had and collected would not be enough for her to have fun.

"There's no place you want to go?" asked Arthur.

"I don't know ...."

Arthur knitted his eyebrows in surprise, this girl beside him was a bit different. She didn't act like a normal girl. At an age when Kalea should be having fun with friends or many guys, dressing up and so on but all Kalea could think about was working and studying.

"If I tell you to spend the money I give you and if you don't, I will punish you. Do you agree?" Arthur asked, leaving Kalea wide-eyed in shock.

"Why is that?"

"I want you to use my money to have fun like any other girl."

Kalea was silent for a moment, finding it hard to do what Arthur wanted. "I ... can't do it yet. I don't want my best friend to know and suspect where the money came from," Kalea said. Her mind immediately went to Aluna.

Arthur did not reply to those words, he understood if Kalea was ashamed of the work done. "Okay, I won't force you. Do what you think is comfortable. Besides, you can be friends with Zeline, she won't judge you. Despite her harsh mouth, she is not a hypocrite."

Kalea smiled with relief, whether or not she should be grateful to be reunited with Arthur. "Thank you."

She couldn't say yes about Zeline. The blonde girl was nice but Kalea was still a little afraid of her fierce nature.

"Then let's go shopping and eat. I don't know where to go because all the girls only ask me for that," Arthur said as he turned towards a famous and luxurious shopping center.
