"Stop!" one of the guards called out to them. At this point, Merry and Henry's hearts skipped a beat. Henry could feel droplets of sweats running from the back of his neck till his torso due to the anxiety. Merry too wasn't spared. She could feel her knees shaking.
"Yes," Henry replied casually turning around, hoping to not arouse any more suspicion than it was already from the guard.
The guard didn't say anything else and just kept looking at them as if he was trying to remember something.
"What's the problem?" Henry continued, trying to keep his voice calm.
The guard was alone, probably back in his shift after the lunch break, which meant they had to act quickly before more personnel arrived.
Merry and Henry exchanged a glance, trying to come up with a plausible excuse.
"Who is this, Henry?" The guard asked, eyeing Merry suspiciously.
