"Oh hey, Anna," Miles said in a friendly tone.
"Hi Miles," Merry said trying to sound casual.
"You haven't saved my number?" Miles asked with a hint of playfulness in his voice.
"No, of course, I have saved your number," Merry replied slightly flustered by Miles's remark.
"Wow! Isn't like this the first time we are actually talking on the phone?" Miles stated as if it amused him to realize that they had only communicated through text messages up until now.
Merry's face turned red with embarrassment on the other line as she realized Miles had noticed her discomfort with phone conversations.
"Hello?"
Miles inquired again as Merry kept her silence to check if she was still connected to the call.
"Ah, yeah. What were you saying?"
Merry pretended as if she hadn't heard his earlier comment.
