Merry realized that she wouldn't get any more information from Mrs. Miller other than that. And she knew better than to throw a fit when she understood that they wouldn't comply in any way.
She was feeling a little dizzy but made her way back to the dorm safely.
The lights were turned off. Everyone had already gone to sleep.
Merry was tired and just wanted to sleep. She didn't have the energy to talk or give answers to anyone. So she was in a way relieved that all her friends were already asleep.
They would have asked her what took it so long. And she wanted to avoid talking to them just for today about whatever Mrs. Miller had told her.
Moreover she still hadn't told her other friends about those pills she was taking recently, so telling them about her today's findings would only at to the confusion.
