The entire college was placed on high suspense, as the assistant scholar heaved a heavy sigh, then in a loud voice announced the final vote.
"Yu Xiaoguang should be exempted!"
Accompanying his announcement was a stilling silence, Chan Zian and Ming Baozhai exchanged glances with each other, whilst the members of class Opal were paralysed in stun.
"What?! How can this be?!" Shao Yŭxuān cried out, abruptly standing up from the table with curled fists. He looked to both sides at the scholars, an angry scowl on his face.
The alchemist smiled gently at Mei Deng whose cheeks were flushed, he stepped forward then cleared his throat. "In favor of the votes casted, Yu Xiaoguang is hereby..." In the middle of his speech, Shao Yŭxuān chimed in.
"The votes must have been tampered with, frisk the assistant scholar, he must have collected a bribe from Yu Xiaoguang!" He insisted, a crazed look in his eyes, pointing at the assistant.
