Mei Deng was surprised with himself for daring to sound so crude and talk back to a Duke. He half expected to be punished far severely than the consort would, however a laugh sent everyone on edge.
The duke looked behind him to see who would dare to laugh in such a serious situation, little did he expect his gaze to land on the infamous sour faced general, who was apparently... laughing?
"Tengfei?" The consort mumbled under her breath in disbelief, the maids who were used to seeing the general scowl most of the time, didn't know what to say.
