As expected, the alchemist was scampering around, working tirelessly on the men from silver swallow, whose condition had gotten worse. The swellings had started to develop at the side of their necks, producing an awful stench.
"Why has it gotten worse despite the suppressants?" Yu Xiaoguang questioned on his knees, noticing the severity of their condition.
The alchemist grimaced, "it's not the same."
Mei Deng blinked twice, "what isn't the same? What are you referring to?" He noticed the alchemist's gaze dampened, and instinctively gnawed on his lower lip.
Checking their pulse, the alchemist shook his head, "this isn't kiss of death." He declared in a firm voice, rising to his feet, dashing towards the open door.
Mei Deng followed.
"How can you tell? And if it isn't... what is it?" Worry seeped out of his words, he stole a glance at the coughing men, who could barely alternate between breathing or puking blood.
