Mei Deng knew that as the cousin of Shao Yŭxuān, some servants would have kept tabs on him and as a result knew how he looked. Hence, he had no choice than to wear a veil which drew unneeded attention to himself.
"Uncle, I haven't seen you around here before, are you new?" A servant boy munching on a potatoes asked, pulling Yu Xiaoguang by his sleeve.
Mei Deng peered over his shoulder, to see a child with round black questioning orbs, latching onto his robe with his small fingers. He looked around the hallway and saw no one else.
Crouching down he smiled at the boy, "yes, and I'm looking for the master's bedroom to clean it. Could you show me the way?" He asked, then rested his hand on the kid's shoulder.
He gasped when he realized how thin he was, "where does your mother work?" Yu Xiaoguang inquired, confusing the child.
"Uncle, didn't anyone show you?" He gave Mei Deng an incredulous stare, Mei Deng shook his head. "Show me what?" The young doctor pried.
