Content with his quick bath in the pond, Mei Deng went to where Da-Xia was busy playing, and squatted beside her. She was very much invested in her own thoughts, that she did not notice his presence immediately.
It wasn't until she looked over her shoulder, that she noticed him staring intently at her. "Bàba!" She cried in shock, falling backwards.
Mei Deng quickly hooked his hand under her back, and broke her fall. "Are you okay?" He asked, helping to steady her feet.
"Bàba, how much longer are we going to stay here? Can't we go back home now? Māma and Gege are waiting. Same with aunt Huahua, let's go back." She abruptly asked, latching onto his damp wet right arm.
Mei Deng furrowed his brows, 'isn't this too sudden? Why does she want to go home now?' he thought to himself, finding her behavior strange.
"But, weren't you the one who said you wanted to see your Lemon Gege?" He sharply asked.
