*Jiào huā jī Tavern (Beggars Chicken Tavern)*
A man dressed in long flowing red robes marched into a densely populated tavern, which looked like it would soon be closing. He had in his right hand a scroll and balanced behind his left ear was a brush.
He pulled his lips back into a half smile when his gaze landed on a woman in a white and red fox mask, and a man dressed in a tax official uniform.
"Yao Gege!" Chen Zi called out on noticing her brother, Jun Feng looked over his shoulder to see none other than assistant calligraphy scholar, Chen Yao.
Chen Yao embraced his sister, then pulled himself a seat next to Jun Feng. "No hug?" He teased his friend.
Jun Feng twisted his lips into a frown. "You came so late, and I had to endure waiting with her, what do those scholars make you do so late at night?" Jun Feng diverted his gaze to Chen Zi when he spoke.
Chen Zi turned her head away and said under her breath, "shouldn't a pighead be glad he got to sit with such a beauty?"
